PURPOSE
To ensure the safety and security of employees, stakeholders/ clients, assets, information and buildings.
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Conduct proper inspection and hand over of vehicles before commencing each shift. Ensure all vehicles are serviced, clean and taken care of by each driver. Visit and patrol all sites per shift. Ensure occurrence book updated. Ensure that the deployment correspond with posting sheets as communicated by the control room. Report Risk assessments/ breaches in security to relevant managers for action. Respond to any requests from the Control room. Arrange replacement guards in conjunction with Control room if the need arises. Be able to complete and initiate WCA forms in case of injury on duty. Ensure that all events and incidents are recorded in the Occurrence Book and reference is made to all information that might be needed for further investigations. Ensure professional conduct of all security officers and the execution of the shift in accordance with security policies, procedures and standards and site specific descriptions. Keep documentation in order for posting, incidents for proper control over security officers and incidents. Ensure that guard-monitoring systems gives warnings to the control room and the controller has to follow up if no patrols are done or points are skipped on patrols.

PURPOSE

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Interpreting hearing conservation tests and overseeing conservation hearing program. Conduct medical examinations, asses’ medical surveillance results and trends. Conduct work related clinical matters, fitness and return to work assessments and incapacity assessment. Assist with injuries on duty and medical care. Advise the company on Occupational Health matters. Oversee the development and review policies, procedures and protocols in line with current or changing legislation. Attend to employees illness affecting work performance. Interpreting laboratory and radiography reports and recommend appropriate treatment. Ensure that vaccine are scheduled properly. Prepare medical reports on referrals with recommendations to management.
The employee shall work a minimum of 5 hours per week (preferably every Tuesday from 8:00 to 13:00). By agreement between the parties the working hours may be extended to a maximum of 10 hours per week.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise and ensure the integrity of Network pipelines and associated equipment as per the request of the respective Regions by performing installation modifications and repairs to mains. Supervise medium to large scale pipeline projects for Networks regions. Pre-planning and site supervision of all work undertaken. Technical Support to Electro-Mechanical sections as well as regions of Johannesburg Water. Supervise the repairs, installation and modifications to JW Reservoirs, pump stations and depots, with regards to the boiler making and welding functions. Supervise the effective utilisation of the centralised Welding Workshop by ensuring that the workshop buildings, machinery and equipment are maintained in a good condition. Schedule and create works orders for all maintenance activities and ensure that they are closed off by the Admin Office. Design, manufacture and install specialised pipe fittings and pipes such as, but not limited to reducers, t-pieces and spool pieces. Supervise and control overtime to within budget. Liaise with contractors on an adhoc basis to ensure that all outsourced work is completed within agreed timeframes. Liaise with suppliers wrto delivery of spares. Monitor and enforce safety requirements in the workplace. Ensure that all new employees are informed of and trained to the requirements of OHASA by carrying out risk assessments and on job assessments. Supervise and Control staff in terms of Conditions of Service. Identify job specific training and development needs in line with JW skills development plan. This will be done in consultation with the Ops Manager: Sewer Pump stations

Provide support to Credit Management to increase revenue collection. Communicate, track and escalate meter audits referred to the relevant section within the Meter Reading Department. All records, supporting documentation and recommendations relating to the queries is to be stored and archived electronically on a Johannesburg Water I.T server. Ensure a workflow management system is available to refer and resolve all queries relating to the section. Identify problem areas timeously and implement corrective measures involving management where necessary. Attend to disciplinary hearings and present cases at disciplinary hearing when needed. Initiate process to fill vacant posts within the section when needed. Carry out on the job daily training to improve the work quality of staff as well as arrange in house training for staff. Meet with stakeholders i.e City of Johannesburg, Depots and Internal clients to discuss relevant matters relating to customer queries using applicable by laws as a guideline. Communicate with consumers who have escalated their queries with subordinates. Prepare accurate statistical based reporting on internal and external outstanding matters, query age analysis, resolutions and any other related reporting. Audit work done by subordinates to ensure correct updating. Produce regular reports for Senior Management that provides an overview, challenges and success within the section.

Effective prioritisation, investigation and resolution of daily-allocated queries from various stakeholders including the City of Johannesburg, Ombudsman’s Office, The Office of the City Manager and Executive channels. Provide support to Credit Management for effective credit control and increased revenue collection. Verify and capture all tariff changes for customer billing. Verify and capture all correct usage and living units to be linked to customer billing accounts. Resolve all queries with meters billing on estimations for more than six months. Identify and highlight additions and amendments for the Water Services By-Laws and Johannesburg Water Tariffs to the Team Leader: Customer Support to assist in query resolution. Communicate, track and escalate meter audits referred to the relevant section within the Meter Reading Department. Ensure a workflow management system is utilised to monitor and manage all queries relating to the section. Track queries from the initiation to final resolution. Provide detailed feedback to stakeholders supported by facts and guided by relevant policies, act and by-laws. Identify problem areas timeously and escalate to the Team Leader: Customer Support. Build a full property profile per query using historical and current data from various information sources including Deeds, Land Information Systems, Aerial photographic layers, water and sewer pipe layouts, meter installation history, meter reading, meter audit investigations and the billing system. Produce full account analysis from the billing system. Summarise the entire history of an account for distribution. Attend and support all meeting relating to customer query resolution. Follow up with various departments within Johannesburg Water and the City of Johannesburg to collect information and facts to resolve customer queries. Regular face-to-face, telephonic, electronic engagements with internal and external stakeholders. Provide initiation, progress and resolution feedback on all matters allocated to the section. Prepare accurate statistical based reporting on new, outstanding and resolved work. Audit all work completed by the Operations, Metering and Revenue and all other inputs for resolution of queries. Offer support to the City of Johannesburg to resolve all water and sewer queries.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage and ensure the scheduling, installation, repair and maintenance of all mechanical plant and equipment located at the various Wastewater Treatment Works in compliance to OHASA and SANS codes of practice. Inspect and ensure that all outsourced mechanical repairs are adhered to in terms of the relevant quality standards. Conduct investigations into mechanical operating methods and upon approval from Mechanical Manager, manage the implementation of such upgrades or modifications to enhance current systems. Revise and update Mechanical drawings. Manage and Control staff in terms of HR Policies. Identify job specific training and development needs in line with JW skills development plan. This will be done in consultation with the Mechanical Manager. Carry out responsibilities as outlined in the relevant Safety appointments (Disaster management reps and Safety committee reps). Manage, monitor, and enforce safety requirements in the workplace by carrying out risk assessments and on job assessments. Informs Mechanical Manager with the annual capital (CAPEX) and operating budgets (OPEX) estimates. Keep updated records of expenditure per mechanical plant/equipment and inform Mechanical Manager of high expenditure equipment. Control expenditure by ensuring spending is appropriate and necessary for achievement of objectives. Liaise with contractors on an adhoc basis to ensure that all outsourced work is completed within agreed timeframes. Liaise with suppliers regarding delivery of spares.
