REMUNERATION: R172 896 BASIC SALARY PER ANNUM
PURPOSE
Collect routine and non-routine water samples for analysis by the laboratory, conduct on site analyses, and inspect sample points as well as to comply with legislative and accreditation requirements in order to ensure reliability and accuracy of results generated by the Laboratory.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan the routes to be taken among Samplers according to the schedules to meet the targets of drinking water and wastewater monitoring programmes Undertake all routine water samples according to a schedule provided for the samples including drinking water, rivers, dams and wastewater effluent samples). Inspect the drinking water sample points (including water tankers) for any faults. Conduct pH, free chlorine, Total Chlorine, Temperature and Monochloramine analyses using photometric instruments Participate in Internal Proficiency Testing programmes. Conduct general and preventative maintenance of sampling and analytical equipment as scheduled. Observe and report problems regarding infrastructure at Johannesburg Water sites to the laboratory Manager: microbiology. Capture all sampling information and observations on sampling sheet and LIMS.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Essential qualifications and experience:
- Grade 12 (NQF 4) with Maths and Science
- 1 year experience in water or environmental sampling or 1 year experience in laboratory.
- Driver’s Licence Code B
