REMUNERATION: R839 184 TOTAL COST TO COMPANY
PURPOSE
Management of the electrical repair and maintenance of all Electro-Mechanical buildings, workshops and depots according to SANS0142 regulations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage and ensure the scheduling, installation, repair and maintenance of all electrical and instrumentation equipment located at pump stations, reservoirs, towers, depots and workshops in compliance to OHASA and SANS codes of practice. Carry out site visits to ascertain the quality of work and standards. Investigate and implement new technology to enhance plant and equipment efficiency. This must be done in consultation with the Electro-Mechanical Manager. Manage and ensure the testing of ancillaries at water and sewer installations as per outsourced contracts. These include, but not limited to the testing of fire fighting equipment and fumigation. Ensure that identified critical spares are available. Re-ordering of materials and spares as and when required. Manage staff in terms of Human Resources Policies. Identify job specific training and development needs in line with JW skills development plan. This will be done in consultation with the Electro-Mechanical Manager. Provide Leadership and management in the Electrical section through proactive planning.
Monitor and enforce safety requirements in the workplace by carrying out risk assessments and on job assessments. Ensure that all safety incidents are reported to Line management and Safety committee. Ensure the completion of relevant documentation and that necessary action is taken to prevent similar incidents in future. Manage the sections budget and keep updated records of expenditure. Report to Electro-Mechanical Manager on high expenditure equipment. Liaise with contractors on an ad hoc basis to ensure that all outsourced work is completed within agreed timeframes.

Essential qualifications and experience:
• National Diploma in Electrical Engineering (NQF 6) with accredited management qualification NQF 5
• 5 years experience in electrical engineering field of which 3 years must be at managerial level, with specific experience relating to Soft starters, Direct on line, Star Delta starters, PLC’S ,VSD’S, ultrasonic level controllers and actuators
• Drivers License –Code EB
