1. FOREMAN: SPECIAL SERVICES - REF: FSS - JW353/2020 (KLIPSPRUIT DEPOT)
REMUNERATION: R376 548 BASIC SALARY PER ANNUM
PURPOSE
Manage effectively all functions related to the maintenance of larger valve/pipes, PRVs and on-site services at all the informal settlements within the Region.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise operational plans to co-ordinate and optimise the utilisation of the area's resources for all fieldwork to be undertaken. Ensure that correct materials and resources are available for scheduled operations on a daily basis. Monitor and supervise the quality standard and productivity levels for all fieldwork by doing site inspections and job assessments. Ensure that repairs and maintenance are carried out within the accepted response times and deadlines to ensure proper service delivery to customers. Ensure that works orders and defects are prioritized and executed for repairs and maintenance.
Co-ordinate all maintenance and construction work under his/her control. Investigate and implement new and more affective work methods and techniques in consultation with the Operations Manager. Participate In the operational planning process of the Depot and execute company policies. Operate maintain and install large isolation valves, PRV'S ,air valve etc. and pipes up to 15000 diameter on the network. Ensure the provision of water services to informal settlements in consultation with Onsite Services. Participate in the planning and co-ordination of Company policies and Procedures relating to the water network. Supervise the inspection vehicles for roadworthy and ensuring that logbooks and checklists are completed and submitted. On an ad-hoc basis initiate works orders for executing of jobs. Liaise with contractors, other departments and utilities. Liaise with customers, members of public and councillors on special services related issues. Liaise with suppliers for the ordering of specialised spares. Adhere to all safety regulations attach to this position. Manage all human resource and financial activities attach to this position.

2. ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN X2 - REF: ET - JW353/2020 (SWISS HOUSE)
REMUNERATION: R436 992 BASIC SALARY PER ANNUM
PURPOSE
To carry out the design of engineering works, assist in appointing the most credible consultants to carry out projects through preparation of tender documents and ensure smooth running of projects through supervision and monitoring on site.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare design reports which are substantiated with calculations and computer analysis and network designs that will be implemented. Circulate the design reports to the Planning and Investment delivery section for comment and approval. Make design recommendations based on the information gathered from the investigations. Compile tender documents with emphasis on the scope of work and bill of quantities. Conduct briefings to contractors interested in tendering, take the attendance register respond to questions on site and send minutes of the briefing session to all who attended. Visit sites for inspection at every critical stage of the project, may sometimes be required to be permanently on site. Monitor progress of projects and costs and report to Manager. Process payment certificates for contactors at each stage of the project, verify information on the progress report and if work done is of required quality and process payments accordingly. Issue the completion certificate once signed by parties involved. Compile and send regular progress reports to Manager, comment on reports done by the contractor. Ensure that computer software is updated and maintained to produce better design work.

3. OPERATIONAL MANAGER: SEWER PUMPSTATIONS & WORKSHOP - REF: OMS - JW353/2020 (FFENNELL ROAD DEPOT)
REMUNERATION: R436 992 BASIC SALARY PER ANNUM
PURPOSE
Management, operation, repair and maintenance of all mechanical equipment, instrumentation and reticulation located in Johannesburg Water’s sewer pump stations in accordance to general machinery regulation section 2.1 and 2.7 (OHASA) and SABS codes of practice.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Schedule, installation, repair and maintenance of all mechanical equipment located at sewer pump stations in compliance to OHASA and SABS codes of practice. Maintenance of inlet sewer baskets and inlet works on a daily basis. Aid Manager in ensuring all staff is trained and competent to carry out functions as outlined by job descriptions. Carry out on the job training to staff. Ensure mechanical safety requirements of pumping and storage installations and staff in terms of OHASA, under the direction of the manager. Manage and direct sewer section staff in terms of Conditions of Service. Assistance with the annual capital and operating estimates. Manage relevant procurement procedures and budget expenditure.

4. DEVELOPMENT ENGINEERING OFFICER - REF: OMS - JW353/2020 (HEAD OFFICE)
REMUNERATION: R436 992 BASIC SALARY PER ANNUM
PURPOSE
Evaluate and assess township and land applications. Encroachment, outline scheme reports. Site development plan, construction drawings and building line relaxations with respect to technical and legal suitability in terms of JW’s standard guidelines to ensure the protection of the Company’s Infrastructure, interest and legal obligations
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Receive applications for new township developments from the CoJ. Assess the application using GIS, Alchemy and IMQS in terms of existing water and sanitation service, the layout of the water and sewer system and servitudes required. Analyse the design assumptions regarding the capacity of link and bulk infrustrure to accommodate or service the demand for water and sanitation services. Receive construction drawings from consulting engineers and ensure that they conform to requirements. Assess site development plans against JW’s standards to check the availability of services using GIS, Alchemy and IMQS to ensure that JW’ s services are not compromised, before approving. Receive applications for extension over building lines which include the plan, title deeds and schedule of rights.

- 3 years working engineering experience. Design of water and sewer systems. Knowledge of township development processes, evaluation of construction drawings and assessment of site development plans.

5. OPERATIONAL MANAGER: LOSS CONTROL - REF: OMS - JW353/2020 (FFENNELL ROAD DEPOT)
REMUNERATION: R436 992 BASIC SALARY PER ANNUM
PURPOSE
Manage functions of all aspects of physical and analytical work required to reduce unaccounted for water (UFW) in the Region.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage, prioritise and ensure that the monthly leak detection and UFW reduction targets are met for the specific region. Monitor the daily tasks conducted by the staff pertaining to data collection, leak detection and meter readings. Manage personnel in terms of Conditions of Service and IR policies. Monitor and enforce safety requirements in the workplace. Inform Physical Loss Manager with the annual capital (CAPEX) and operating budgets (OPEX) estimates. Ensure that productivity levels and costs are kept within estimates and targets. Control expenditure by ensuring spending is appropriate and necessary for achievement of objectives. Liaise with contractors and suppliers on an Ad hoc basis to ensure that all outsourced work is completed within agreed timeframes. Liaise with other J. Water departments as and when required.

6. TRANSPORT OFFICER X2 - REF: OMS - JW353/2020 (FFENNELL ROAD DEPOT)
REMUNERATION: R376 548 BASIC SALARY PER ANNUM
PURPOSE
Look after Company vehicles, collect information when there is accidents, and liaise with Managers
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Keep a list of all the vehicles and ensure that the drivers sign in and out the vehicle keys daily. Visit all the depots under the Transport Officer’s control, to check if the vehicles are in good condition and if they are used by the same driver they were originally allocated to. Do vehicle inspections monthly, record defects and take necessary steps where they are not reported. Make bookings with the dealers/workshop for the vehicle to be deliverer for repairs. Inform the Line Managers in advance when the vehicle should be delivered for repairs so that they can do their planning. Make sure that the vehicle is collected when ready for collection from the workshop. Monitor the workshop turnaround time and make the Lead Transport Officer aware of the licence disc that has not been delivered. Make sure that the accident is reported and obtain the reference number as soon as possible. Assist drivers to fill in the insurance accident claim form and submit it before the due date. Keep records of all the driver tags issued. Check daily if the drivers and the Line Managers adhere to the JW vehicle policy and where there are problems take the necessary action. The Transport Officers will be required to travel to the suppliers, various depots, meetings, breakdowns, accident scenes and sometimes to the driver’s place of residents. Be able to work standby and overtime as and when required.

7. SAFETY PRACTITIONER - REF: JW353/2020 (SWISS HOUSE)
REMUNERATION: R376 548 BASIC SALARY PER ANNUM
PURPOSE
To ensure compliance by JW and its appointed contractors in line with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (Act 85 of 1993) and its associated regulations and more specifically the Constructions Regulations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Implement, maintain and audit the ISO 45001 system. Lead the risk assessment process at allocated operational sites. Identify procedures and documents required by the system. Lead incident investigations at all allocated sites for all first aid, medical and disabling injuries, including section 24 incidents. Compile investigation reports with all necessary documents, and submit report to Safety Specialist and Occupational Health Nurse. Develop baseline risk assessments for CAPEX and Operations projects and ensure that this document and the specification are issued to all bidding contractors. Induct all newly appointed contractors on JW OHS requirements, and provide them with the requirements for submitting the safety file. Evaluate and recommend for approval / non-approval all safety files allocated to you and submit report to Safety Specialist. Conduct monthly audits on all allocated projects and submit report to Safety Specialist. Conduct weekly inspections at all allocated sites and submit report to Safety Specialist.

PURPOSE
To conduct routine elementary analysis in the laboratory, assist the analyst with simple analyses when necessary and keep the work place clean and tidy.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan daily laboratory activities. Arrange received samples on the benches according to the type of sample and worksheet. Prepare the samples before analysis by filtering. Plan the verification of instrumentation. Receive and sign for samples from different stakeholders as per SOP. Undertake elementary analysis such as COD, total solids and chlorides according to SOP. Operate elementary instrumentations such as conductivity meter as directed. Capture data using the necessary computer equipment. Report the outcome of the analysis to the manager. Adhere to Occupational Health and Safety rules and procedures as stipulated by the company. Check eye wash bottles & sodium bicarbonate in the lab. Keep the working place clean & tidy. Assist analyst with the preparation of reagents, standards and sample preparation on a daily basis. Assist analyst with analysis when required. Participate in proficiency testing schemes. Participate in accreditation audits. Resolve Corrective Action Requests issued. Verify pH meter daily using buffers. Verify mass balances using mass pieces. PURPOSE
Provide administrative support to the Industrial Effluents Manager with his day to day functions by receiving and handling information.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Enter data such as Inspectorate activities, Ekurhuleni data, tariffs, effluent volumes and charges accurately and timeously. Obtain water consumption figures from the City’s SAP system for each account on record. Transpose analytical data, water consumption figures, sub meter readings and rebate figures accurately onto operational cards. Calculate the industrial effluent volume by allowing for domestic usage and any non- effluent rebates that the company is entitled to. Do monthly mail merge letters as required by the IE Manager. Assist external Auditors during annual audit of the IE Section by providing all relevant data and account info.
