PROCUREMENT OFFICER (3 MONTHS TEMPORARY POSITION)
(R20 633.74 - R27 157.85)
 
JOB PURPOSE
Under direct supervision, review and coordinate routine, purchase requests in accordance with the relevant legislation and the company policies and procedures. Handle projects independently.
 
 
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Review, approve, and process purchasing requests such as purchase requisitions and purchase orders for goods or services to ensure compliance with the company's purchasing procedures, the municipal SCM regulations, arid user requirements
• Prepare bids and proposals, supporting spreadsheets, comparisons, recommendations, and justifications; assist in tender openings; obtain quotes when indicated
• Interact with vendors and departments regarding procurement procedures and status of orders
• Maintain and update product catalogues, vendor files, and price lists for assigned commodity groups
• Maintain records in accordance with established policies and procedures and audit guidelines
• May shipping and deliveries, maintain inventories, and monitor usage inconsistencies, price changes, and vendor back orders
• Perform procurement functions on financial system
• Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
 
 
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Matric / Grade 12
• National Diploma in Supply Chain Management or related field
• 2 – 3 years relevant experience in supply chain management
