MAINTENANCE WORKER
R8 702.22 (Basic Salary excluding benefits)
JOB PURPOSE
To meet the objectives and service delivery requirements of the maintenance unit by diligently carrying out all legal tasks, physical or otherwise as instructed by the immediate manager / supervisor.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist the maintenance department with tasks relating to maintenance and repair of buildings and grounds at various facilities including carpentry, plumbing, glazier, masonry, painting and electrical task. Repairs and treats structures such as floors, showers, sinks, roofs and carpets. Replacement of faulty plugs, switch and changing lights. Cleans debris from roof gutters as and when necessary, performs minor trouble shooting, repair and adjustments of locks on doors, cabinets, desks, closets, repair door hinges, cleans plugged key slots. Perform tasks allocated towards general maintenance of JM. Performing of maintenance related works by means of power tools. Assist with refilling the diesel in JM generators. Assist with administrative were necessary. Adhere to Standards laid down and maintaining acceptable Quality. Comply with OHSA at all times. Wear and maintain all protective clothing or equipment issued. Where necessary operate equipment in order to carry out any task allocated. Assist with the moving of furniture and other assets by means of driving maintenance vehicles. Safeguard and maintain all tools and equipment issued. Perform any miscellaneous tasks as required and as instructed by the Manager / Supervisor.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Grade 12 / NQF level 4
• A minimum of 2 years technical/ maintenance work experience
• Willingness to work shifts and overtime
