PERMANENT POSITION

Designation: Assistant Storeman AV Technician
Ref: ASAVT/03/23 Salary: R18 481.12 – R21 472.61 per month (basic salary excluding benefits)
Key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to: Conduct inspection of electrical equipment for conformity with the health vent fire and contamination ● Maintain responsibility for the security of stock in the Sound store and must limit access for easy monitoring ● Enforce health and safety rules and follow proper practice within the storeroom as well as emergency procedures ● Perform monthly stock take of all consumables and replenish when necessary and report on stock unaccounted for ● Ensure that stock records systems are accurate and up-to-date via control sheets and month count sheets ● Monitor consumption of consumables and to report shortages to the Storeman to replenish ● Accept stock delivery and ensure that they are not damaged and that everything ordered is present and accounted for ● Ensure that stock is packed and labelled correctly for easy access and identifying ● Assist the Storeman in dispatching of stock and keep a log register of all stock before dispatching and when being returned for tracking purposes ● Inspect and ensure all barcodes are attached to assets for stocktaking and verifying purposes ● Conduct stock as requested by Storeman for accounting purposes ● Assist with the annual audit during the verifying process by locating and identifying equipment for the auditor’s ● Carry out all Audio visual setups and operate the AV controllers during productions ●Assist sound technicians during setup when needed on an adhoc basis● Carry out all Audio visual setups and operate the AV controllers during productions ● Assist sound technicians during setup when needed on an adhoc basis ● Execute all Joburg Theatres’ Stage related operations/initiatives including those that will require travelling.
Appointment Requirements:
Higher Certificate (NQF Level 4) in related field or;
1-year experience in stores keeping
Experience as AV Technician will be an added advantage.
Core Competencies
Ability to relate and work with people;
Knowledge of handling electrical material;
Verbal communications in English language;
Willingness to work overtime

Designation: Front of House Manager
Ref: FHM/03/23 Salary: R29, 850.81 - R41, 781.26 per month (basic salary excluding benefits)
Key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to: Provide a full and courteous customer service to audiences ● Ensure that each performance is fully staffed with casual foyer employees; Ensure that all staff members are presentable, on time at their positions and friendly at all times ● Administer all time sheets of staff members for submission to the Customer Services Manager timeously ● Ensure stock control ● Manage orders with suppliers and receive deliveries and display stock ● Place all marketing material in show cases and ensure that the signage is updated ● Ensure that all customers’ services survey forms are completed and handed to the Customer Service Manager ● Ensure that the Theatre’s facilities and the building are well maintained, prepared, and available as required ● Ensure adequate advertising in the display units, brochures and posters are in the foyer for upcoming events ● Ensure that all monies are handled correctly and submitted to the Finance Clerk ● Ensure that the correct financial procedures are followed with the ticking process ● Ensure that the foyer area and auditorium is clean at all times ● Reconcile all income at the end of each performance ● Maintain and manage appropriate levels for floats ● Maintain financial records for monitoring and budgeting purposes. Ensure sufficient petty cash. ● Allocate petty cash to different stations ● Coordinate the emergency evacuation procedure in the event of an emergency situation a prior to, during or after a performance ● Participate in fire drill as required and ensure that all Front of House Assistants are fully compliant with evacuation procedures ● Check accessibility and function of all emergency exits ● Ensure that a trained First Aid official is on standby at all times ● Ensure that the house open on time. Ensure that the audience is seated safely and on time ● Ensure that the performance starts on time ● Ensure that latecomers are admitted where possible.
Appointment Requirements:
National Diploma in Business/Hospitality Management (NQF 6) or equivalent.
3 years’ work experience in management.
Computer Literacy.
