The Joburg City Theatres (JCT) is an entity of the City of Johannesburg that stimulates and operates Joburg Theatre, Roodepoort Theatre and Soweto Theatre in order provide the integrated management of theatre venues.
 
 
Executive Producer

Annual package: R1 103 835-R1 364 601 (negotiable)
 
An Executive Producer position is available for a goal-orientated individual with commitment to realise the JCT's programming vision.
 
Purpose of the position: The Executive Producer takes overall responsibility for the planning and production of a dynamic and imaginative programme of work for all three theatres. The Executive Producer leads in the delivery of the organisation's long-term, strategic programming vision.
 
Key responsibilities: Strategic Planning and Leadership:• Develop and deliver a high-quality, diverse and sustainable artistic programme for JCT, within agreed budgets • Promote JCT work locally, nationally and internationally • Secure invitations for JCT's own productions to travel nationally and internationally • Source value-add partners and sponsorship. 
Financial Management:• Manage production income targets and ensure their achievement at all times • Take overall responsibility for the timely and accurate reporting to key funding partners as required. Personnel Management:• Undertake the day-to-day management of the employees and operations. Marketing and Communications: • Develop and implement a marketing strategy for the organisation. Youth and Community Development Unit: • Produce a Community and Youth Development strategy for all 3 theatres.
 
Education and experience required: • A relevant Bachelor's degree or equivalent (NQF 7 qualification) • A minimum of 10 years' experience in theatre programming or in the arts management environment, of which at least 5 years must have been at Senior Management/strategic level • A proven track record • A qualification in the Municipal Finance Management Act (MFMA). Candidates who do not possess this qualification will be required to acquire it within 18 months of the date of appointment.
