A Senior Accountant: Performance Monitoring & Reporting, in the Group Finance department will manage and control accounting systems for monthly management reports and control staff output.
The successful candidate’s responsibilities will be to:
• Manage fixed assets.
• Check batches for correctness prior to input.
• Maintain, plan and control data input.
• Responsible for keeping accurate ledgers and trial balance reports.
• Ensure correctness of financial accounts and control reconciliations.
• Review and approve reconciliations for allocated general ledger and bank accounts.
• Prepare holding company and Group annual financial statements.
• Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
• Responsible for Provincial Treasury and shareholder quarterly reporting.
• Control and administer electronic payment system.
• Administer investments of surplus funds and interest receivable.
• Manage cash flow and treasury function
• Manage sundry debtors.
• Administer 50/50 monthly and bi-annual loan repayments
• Prepare monthly and quarterly reporting (internal and external).
• Manage Human Resources.
The following minimum requirements should be met to be considered:
• Chartered Accountant (CA) (SA) / AGA (SA)
• Three (3) years accounting experience
Requisite Functional Competencies
• Good financial skills.
• Knowledge and experience in MS Office packages.
• Knowledge in working with spreadsheets.
• Knowledge of Accounting and General Ledger systems.
• Knowledge of Computerised Financial Systems.
• Knowledge of CaseWare.
• Good understanding of fundamental accounting principles.
• Knowledge of Financial Policies and Procedures.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Good time management skills.
• Good verbal and writing communication skills.
• Report Writing Skills.
• Budgeting Knowledge.
• Good understanding of the PFMA.
• Human Resources Management.
