Reporting to the Divisional Manager: Human Capital Management, the Remunerations & Benefits Manager will develop, maintain, communicate, and manage remuneration and benefits strategy, policies, procedures and practices in order to support the organisation’s strategic objectives by enabling the business to attract and retain talented individuals, whilst ensuring maximum benefit realisation for the organisation.

The successful candidate’s responsibilities will be to: 
• Develop and manage the implementation of approved Remuneration Policy and Procedure. 
• Provide information and update both management and employees on company benefits, policies and procedures. 
• Prepare and submit reports on remuneration and benefits benchmarking exercises, and other assignments as required. 
• Compile, submit, monitor, and manage the approved Remuneration and Benefits budget. 
• Ensure that the Remuneration and Benefits spend is in line with relevant legislation. 
• Recommend salary review guidelines to HR Leadership, EXCO and Human Capital Management and Remuneration Committee
• Facilitate the entire salary review process, including training, documentation, distribution and consolidation of review spreadsheets. 
• Manage payroll processes and benefits, salary reviews and incentive schemes. 
• Manage Human Resources information system. 
• Manage Human Resources. 
 
 
The following minimum requirements must be met to be considered for this position: 
• Degree in Commerce / Human Sciences or related qualification. 
• Postgraduate Qualification in Commerce / Human Sciences with Statistics will be an advantage. 
• 8 – 10 years’ experience in Remuneration and Rewards / Benefits Management. 
• Exposure in remuneration analysis and modelling. 
• Registration with South African Rewards Association as a Remuneration Specialist will be an added advantage. 
• Global Remuneration Practitioner (GPR) certification would be an added advantage. 
• Registration with South African Board for People Practice (SABPP) is preferred.
 
Requisite Functional Competencies: 
• Computer literacy (MS Office). 
• Job evaluation system, preferably Patterson Grading System. 
• Knowledge of all relevant employment and remuneration legislation and statutory requirements. 
• Knowledge of Corporate HR reward systems, practices and structures. 
• Understanding of current Tax and Labour Legislation including governance and risk principles. 
• Research surveying techniques.
