Reporting to the Group Chief Executive Officer, the Programme Manager will provide technical leadership to the design, implementation, and evaluation of enterprise and business units’ strategies and corporate projects in order to achieve and maintain external and internal strategic cohesion and alignment towards fulfilment of Ithala Development Finance Corporation Limited’s (IDFC) mandate.
The successful candidate’s responsibilities will be to:
Develop and implement group strategy by:
- Designing sector-relevant best-practice strategy frameworks.
- Aligning IDFC strategy map to the Shareholder Strategy Framework.
- Designing IDFC Board and Executive strategy interventions.
- Advising Executives and related parties on the content and process elements of strategy development.
- Compiling IDFC’s corporate plan in line with Treasury and other applicable frameworks.
Facilitate and support divisional strategy by:
- Integrating group strategic priorities into divisional strategy design and content.
- Facilitating business units’ strategy development review and planning.
- Advising business units on the strategic development process, tools and technology.
- Directing business units towards their alignment to corporate strategy.
Monitor IDFC’s performance by:
- Designing performance tracking tools processes and procedures.
- Facilitating performance data updates and structure indicators for communication with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensuring implementation of decisions taken at key Executive and Board committees.
- Compiling corporate-level process reports pertaining to decisions taken.
Prepare Corporate and Statutory reports by:
- Designing content for enterprise reports to meet pre-defined end-user needs and expectations.
- Compiling and coordinating inputs to all annual reports.
- Formulating leadership motivations and speeches on behalf of the Group Chief Executive Officer for sector and other types of engagements.
Prepare provincial and sector group presentations by:
- Representing IDFC in provincial forums to draw and contribute to strategic and operational priorities.
- Advising IDFC on required provincial project involvements.
- Facilitating project management decisions linked to IDFC.
- Compiling reports on the key developments and/achievements linked to projects executed by IDFC.
Implement knowledge management practices by:
- Drawing best practice case studies and other inputs to advance organisational insights into Knowledge Management practices.
- Formulating strategy and lead corporate-wide initiatives aimed at institutionalising knowledge management practices in the organisation.
- Giving advice on the implementation of interventions identified for each applicable operational area.
- Compiling group performance reports on the implementation and impact of the Knowledge Management practices.
Manage special assignments for the office of the Group Chief Executive by:
- Analysing, advising and positioning executive’s performance agreements in order to achieve cohesion and alignment with strategic objectives.
- Managing risk identification, mapping and controlling activities and documentation on behalf of the Group Chief Executive Officer.
- Representing the Group Chief Executive Officer at specified forums and meetings and perform any other tasks that fits in the scope of the role.
- Formulating strategy and lead corporate-wide intitiatives aimed at institutionalising knowledge.
The following minimum requirements should be met in order to be considered:
Post Graduate qualification in Management or related field.
Five (5) years’ appropriate experience in strategic advisory and/ or strategic project environment.
In-depth knowledge and application ability of strategy development and project management.
Understanding of IDFC as an organization together with an appreciation of its strategic and operational environment and stakeholder relationships.
Ability to foster, nurture and encourage growth between Ministry Office (Stakeholder) and the organisation, thus ensuring mutually beneficial relations.
The ability to apply a business or commercial thought process approach in decision-making, planning and implementation of projects.
Ability to communicate effectively at all levels, ensuring understanding, trust, buy-in and commitment from the various parties.
Financial acumen to compile and manage operational budgets.
Strategic thinking and planning ability in addition to being strategically placed both internally and externally.
Knowledge of computerized systems.
Ability to work with and through people to achieve results.
Diplomacy, discretion, negotiation, analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong networking and relationship skills.
Ability to create and maintain organisational visibility.
Must be creative, innovative and be able to drive energy and enthusiasm.
Must have entrepreneurship skills.
Ability to work independently in a virtual environment.
Submission and report writing skills.
Thorough understanding of the operations of financial institutions.
Ability to interact at senior management level.
