An exceptional opportunity awaits a dynamic individual with the right qualifications and experience to manage and drive the delivery of the insurance sales products, and ensure the sustainable growth of the function within the Insurance division.

The successful candidate’s responsibilities will be to: 
 Manage Ithala insurance portfolio and related organizational stakeholders. 
 Design and implement effective marketing strategies to sell new insurance contracts or adjustments to existing contracts. 
 Lead efforts to improve financial planning for clients including the organizational tools for analysis as well as the related processes. 
 Pro-actively manage the delivery of strategic initiatives and opportunities that are pursued to close gaps. 
 Drive cost reductions across the division to improve the sales margin trajectory. 
 Conduct external benchmarking and industry analysis on practice insurance. 
 Identify and recommend opportunities to enhance processes and systems. 
 Identify new clients and their needs through needs analysis and provide suitable solutions. 
 Cross sell to existing clients by establishing their needs through financial fitness discussions. 
 Obtain referrals from existing clients as well as leads from other business units through collaboration. 
 Verify insurance claims to solidify trust between clients and Ithala to safeguard the organization’s reputation 
 Ensure appropriate pricing to insurance products in line with the objectives and strategy of the business unit. 
 Monitor and manage sales on a daily, weekly and monthly basis in order to achieve targets. 
 Increase market share by converting secondary clients to primary clients and entrench accounts. 
 Participate in end of day discussions and apply recommendations to optimize sales results. 
 Reduce fraudulent transactions by reporting suspicious transactions to relevant departments. 
 
 
The following minimum requirements must be met in order to be considered for this position: 
 B.Com degree in business or equivalent tertiary qualification. 
 Minimum five (5) years’ sales and marketing management experience within the insurance environment. 
 Must be FAIS Accredited. 
 Good knowledge of long and short term insurance products. 
 Must have a proven management track record in the insurance industry. 
 Code 08 Drivers’ License. 
 Must have thorough understanding of Insurance Products. 
 Policies and procedures pertaining to Insurance. 
 Computer literacy in Microsoft Office. 
 Must practice good business ethics. 
 Have excellent customer service skills. 
 Have the capability to work in pressurized environment. 
 Must be results orientated and efficiency in meeting targets. 
 Must have excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills. 
 Must be knowledgeable of all legislation pertaining to Insurance (i.e., PPR, TCF, FAIS, FICA, and Consumer Protection Act etc.) 
 Thorough working knowledge of Short Term (Non-Life) and Long Term (Life) Insurance Act and the South African Law of Insurance. 
 Have good planning, organizing and analytical skills. 
 Innovative. 
 Professional-well groomed and well spoken. 
 Must be a strong team player. 
 Must possess excellent communication skills. 
 Meticulous on detail. 
 Must have high levels of confidentiality. 
 Must be competent and flexible. 
 Must be emotionally mature.
