An exceptional opportunity awaits a dynamic individual with the right qualifications and experience to assume the position of Information Security Officer.

The successful candidate’s duties will include the following: 
 Develop, review and implement IT Security policies, standards, guidelines, processes and procedures. 
 Develop and implement IT Security controls across all systems, networks and infrastructure. 
 Implement IT Security controls across all systems, networks and infrastructure.
 Create user profiles and allocate rights for user profiles on Ithala system. 
 Ensure roles on applications are correctly defined and implemented. 
 Remove and / or provide mitigating controls on identified security holes, security bugs and backdoors to the applications. 
 Ensure released security updates and patches are thoroughly tested and applied to the operating systems. 
 Implement measures to prevent viruses, spywares and hackers from entering Ithala’s network. 
 Develop data security standards and architectures to maintain integrity of content in information systems. 
 Implement intrusion detection / prevention system. 
 Ensure all Ithala’s computers are installed with latest antivirus software and have latest security updates. 
 Monitor and report security breaches and violations. 
 Ensure the systems are configured to produce the required activity logs. 
 Review security configurations on the systems. 
 Tracking and handling of IT security incidents and audit issues. 
 Report all IT security incidents. 
 
The following entry requirements must be met in order to be considered for this position: 
 Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/ Information systems/ IT Audit / CISA with Post Graduate business qualification being added advantage. 
 At least five (5) years’ experience in IT Security Management including formulation of Policies and Procedures in a banking/financial sector. 
 Good understanding of software, hardware, networks, databases, IT Policies, Processes and Practices. 
 Understanding of information and knowledge management concepts, principles and strategies. 
 Experience in the development of ITDRP and backup strategies. 
 Must have sound technical knowledge of information technology and security issues such as Firewall, Anti -Virus solutions, Active Directory, Proxy Servers and encryption technologies. 
 Knowledge of trends in information security solutions in the financial/banking sector. 
 Practical understanding of information security concepts. 
 Must be familiar with COBIT, ITL, and ISO27001/2. TOGAF and other best practice standards. 
 Must have good conceptual and technical understanding of software (including Web applications) hardware, network (CISCO), databases (Oracle /SQL), Operating systems (Windows/ Unix). 
 Knowledge of project management principles will be a recommendation. 
 Interpersonal and good communication skills. 
 Good Administrative, planning, time management and organizing skills. 
 Must have excellent problem solving skills. 
 Self-management and technical skills. 
 Must be assertive with meticulous attention to detail. 
 Diplomacy, discretion, analytical and problem solving skills. 
 Ability to work under pressure. 
 Ability to coach, develop others and provide mentoring. 
 Results focus and accountability.
