Job Purpose:
An exceptional opportunity awaits a dynamic individual with the appropriate qualifications and experience to direct and manage information technology strategic plans, policies, programs and schedules for the business. The incumbent will also be expected to manage data processing, computer services, network communications, and management information services to accomplish the divisional goals and objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop the Information Technology (IT) strategy based on the corporate strategic plan of Ithala Limited.
• Consult with relevant role players and set appropriate short, medium and long term plans for the unit.
• Assist the business in all phases of development and implementation of the IT Systems.
• Manage the development of software solutions within the agreed time frame and budgetary limits.
• Manage the maintenance of the developed software and its related difficulties within the agreed timeframe.
• Implement and manage quality assurance & systems testing procedures.
• Manage the function and portfolio of Business Analysis.
• Co-ordinate and manage a comprehensive Solutions Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology that governs software development.
• Define IT policies and strategies based on future expectations and historical trends.
• Identify the risks of implementing new systems including their management and control.
• Contribute towards the introduction of control systems and procedures.
• Co-ordinate research and development to facilitate efficient utilisation of information technology within Ithala.
• Respond to Audit findings and recommendations as and when required.
• Regular review of IT governance framework and make recommendations for improvement.
• Manage the assessments of service provider quality and recommend improvements where required.
• Negotiate service level agreements with the various vendors / service providers.
• Collect, generate, summarise and disseminate information regarding the administration of the IT infrastructure security.
• Report to various committees and provide information regarding IT trends.
• Manage the IT capital expenditure and ensure the alignment of the deployed technology with the latest trends.
• Perform people management functions, including but not limited to:-
• workforce and recruitment demand planning
• recruitment
• talent management and succession planning
• mentoring and coaching
• management of discipline and grievances
• performance development
• reward and recognition management
• training and development
• Ensure compliance to Ithala policies, legislation and regulations.

Qualifications:
The following minimum requirements must be met in order to be considered for this position:
• A post graduate tertiary qualification in Information Technology (IT) or related field.
• Master’s degree will be an advantage.
• Minimum of seven (7) to ten (10) years’ experience at a senior-level related position.
• A proven record of a successful career in IT Management.
• Experience with implementation of information technology integrations in a large division/company.
• Understanding of IT Strategy Development and Enterprise Architecture design processes.
• Extensive experience in the IT strategy implementations.
• Strong understanding of IT governance concepts such as King 4 and Corporate Governance of ICT.
• Understanding of regulatory and compliance issues in the financial sector.
• Must be assertive and complemented with good communication skills at all levels.
• Willingness to travel and work additional and /or non-standard hours when required.
• An understanding of Ithala as an organisation together with an appreciation of its strategic objectives, policies and procedures.
• High management and administrative skills.
