An exceptional opportunity awaits a dynamic individual with the right qualifications and experience to assume the position of a Senior MS Systems Engineer. 
 
The successful candidate’s duties will include the following: 
 Manage Ithala’s virtualization infrastructure to support IT service architecture design and business requirements 
 Provide support services for Microsoft/ Linux infrastructure related technologies including but not limited to, Linux Server, Windows Server, Exchange, SQL, SharePoint, etc. 
 Provide support for server(virtual & physical ) SAN storage platforms, backup, Replication, Windows server roles and or services and related technologies 
 Manage security, ensuring logical and physical security requirements are met 
 Manage disaster discovery 
 Plan and monitor capacity requirements. 
 Monitor Server storage capacity. 
 Provide support to users when required. 
 Schedule and monitor operational task 
 
 
The following minimum requirements must be met in order to be considered for this position: 
 Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent qualification in Information Technology /Information Science/ Information Systems/ Informatics (NQF Level 7) 
 Microsoft Server certification required (MCSE 2008 or higher) 
 VMware and Microsoft Hyper-V certification preferred. 
 Cisco UCS will be an added advantage 
 Five(5) years’ experience in Technical environment such as virtual server environment, enterprise, storage, enterprise messaging solutions, application solutions, directory services and or server scripting ( PowerShell, VB Script, WMI) 
 Eight (8) years’ experience with infrastructure management, application administration, virtualization including configuration and support 
 Experience with Microsoft Hyper-V and Systems Center Machine Manager platforms.
 In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with server virtualization(Hypervisors) such as VM and or Microsoft Hyper-V 
 Hands-on experience with DEL EMC storage (VNX, Unisphere) and Backup solutions (RecoverPoint, Data Domain, Networker) 
 Practical knowledge of Wide Area Networks, Local Area Network, Internet and Firewalls. 
 Good communication skills and problem solving skills. 
 Strong Documentation skills, project plans and status reports 
 Must pay meticulous attention to detail 
 Ability to work under pressure and extraordinary hours. 
 Ability to work independently.
