ENVIRONMENTAL MONITORS (2 POSTS)
3 years fixed-term contract
The Environmental Monitors who will assist with the implementation and enforcement of the World Heritage Convention Act, its regulations and other environmental related and applicable legislations within iSimangaliso Wetland Park.
 
 
Requirements:
  • Grade 12 Certificate plus relevant applicable experience
  • Basic understanding of environmental legislation and keen interest in nature conservation
  • Interpersonal relations and excellent communication skills
  • Initiative and ability to work independently
  • Candidate must be physically strong and healthy
  • Police clearance for criminal record
  • Should have basic computer skills
 
Key performance areas:
  • Extended day and night law enforcement patrols
  • Maintenance of camp facilities
  • Gather information on natural occurrences and report back on it
  • Ensures completeness and accuracy in information
  • Assist with the management of visitors through official entrance gates
