SENIOR MANAGER: TARIFF INVESTIGATIONS II
All-Inclusive Package: R1 122 225 per annum (REF: ITAC 03/2021)
The Tariff Investigations Unit is responsible for ordinary customs duty, rebate and drawback amendments.
 
 
Minimum requirements: A Bachelor of Commerce degree or equivalent qualification in Economics or Business Economics. A postgraduate degree in Economics will be an added advantage. At least five years’ practical experience of which three must be at management level in the field of international trade preferably within Government institutions or business. In depth knowledge of Macro and Microeconomics. Good leadership skills with conceptual and strategic focus. Computer literate with resource and project management skills. Business acumen, networking, results focused and analytical. Good presentation, interpersonal, planning and organising, verbal and written communication skills.
 
Key responsibilities: Direct and Manage Tariff Investigation unit to ensure that the set objectives are achieved. Present submissions and reports to the Commission for effective decision making. Build capacity within the unit by ensuring implementation of set training or coaching requirements. Ensure compliance to relevant policy and legislative directives, objectives and other related frameworks. 
Facilitate and co-ordinate the unit’s communication with internal and external stakeholders. Interpret policy and commissions decisions to the customers for effective flow of information and speedy service delivery. Plan, monitor and manage the unit’s budget in accordance with ITAC’s requirements. Represent ITAC at various forums and network with other stakeholders. Oversee special programmes such as Automotive Production and Development Programme (APDP).
