Roles and Responsibilities
Financial Shareholder Returns
- Compile budgets as required and track expenditure.
Development of stakeholder management plans for the JET GH2 and JET NEV work identifying key internal and external stakeholders.- Development of communication content and programmes - drawing from available company documents and publications as well as external sources to prepare write-ups and presentations, including briefing notes, to be used to inform audiences of JET IP operations and priorities or to support speaking and other public engagements.
- Maintain stakeholder databases, records, and documentation, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality of information.
- Stakeholder Engagement Strategy & Plan – identify key stakeholders with whom to engage and analyse their perceptions of the JET IP to develop and implement an effective stakeholder engagement strategy and stakeholder engagement plan to accurately and effectively deliver key messages to major counterparts and stakeholders.
- Develop a monitoring approach to monitor stakeholder engagement, analyse stakeholder feedback, perceptions, and sentiment to identify emerging issues and trends that may impact the JET IP Programmes.
- Organize stakeholder meetings, workshops, and events to provide updates on the JET IP’s progress, to solicit feedback, and to address concerns
- Serve as a liaison between internal and external stakeholders and the Programme Management Offices, ensuring effective communication and alignment of interests.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities
Financial Shareholder Returns
- Analyse the existing pipeline of green funders, with a focus on NEVs and GH and create a database for the JET IP NEV and GH Office. Green funds are of particular importance to the JET-IP work.
- Provide critical feedback on the suitability of all potential funding instruments
- Liaise with the JET PMU in the Presidency regarding funding and the JET Financing platform.
- Market the IDC’s JET IP NEV and GH office to the widest possible group of financiers that provide funding for JET/Impact-related programmes in NEVs and GH including Development Finance Institutions, Export Credit Agencies, commercial banks, African financial institutions, African multilaterals, insurers and other financial institutions.
- Liaise with the IDC Partnership and Programmes Unit and Financial Management and other relevant internal departments for all matters related to green funds and disbursements thereof.
- Provide support to the JET-IP Office at the IDC and other relevant units to structure agreements optimally, based on sound business principles.
- Set up new funds or financial instruments as required within the NEV and GH value chains in collaboration with other funders.

Job Description
In November 2023 Cabinet approved the Just Energy Transition Implementation Plan (JET IP) which included chapters dedicated to green hydrogen (GH2) and New Energy Vehicles (NEVs).
The IDC is tasked with setting up the GH2 and NEV JET IP Programme Management Offices, which include an Analyst role (hereafter referred to as the “analyst”). The analyst will support the JET IP Programmes in the IDC, conducting in-depth research and strategic analysis of value chains and industries linked to GH2 and NEVs, as well as ongoing analysis of supply- and demand-side conditions, leading to the identification of development opportunities and potential interventions to further the implementation of the IDC’s JET IP GH2 and NEV Portfolios
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications
- Degree in Economics, with Engineering or Science.
- A related qualification at the Honour’s level or an M. Commerce; M. Arts (Economics); relevant MSc, M. Engineering, MBA) would be an advantage.

Job Description
- Direct and coordinate the JET IP NEV workstream activities
- Coordinate the predefined governance structures to ensure operational efficiency and impact
- Direct the Programme Management Office team through planning and coordination of information in order to optimize workflow procedures
- Work with the policy and stakeholder specialists and be a single point of contact for public and private institutions to ensure issues between private developers and labour and community are being addressed
- Work with the fund programme specialist to source various types of funds for NEV projects and to develop NEV fund programmes
