Driver-Handyman Free State Provincial Office [Ref No: PO-0564]

Remuneration: An inclusive remuneration package of R 204, 540 per annum
Overview
To provide driver-handyman duties to the provincial electoral office. This position report to the Senior Accountant: Finance and Facilities Management.
Responsibilities/Duties
Driver duties:
- Provision of driver services to transport staff, documents, merchandise, and run official errands;
- timeously transport products, materials, and staff securely to areas where they are needed;
- load/unload the Electoral Commission's merchandise;
- accurately complete all paper work related to transportation of employees and or merchandise;
- ensure safekeeping of products and staff at all times; respond to inquiries or queries;
- ensure vehicles kept clean and in working order;
- carry out routine checks on vehicles and ensure they are sound;
- identify faults on vehicles and report to supervisor;
- periodic maintenance on vehicles;
- report accidents and damage to vehicles timeously;
- provide receipts for all expenses or maintenance incurred on vehicles;
- keep travel log to record areas travelled to, travel time, and work hours;
- pay tolls, registration and licensing of vehicles; inform supervisor/clients regarding change in route, delivery and or pick schedule;
- perform other duties including shopping, dropping nd picking supplies, getting meals, and running errands.
Handyman duties:
- identify and report faults and/or repairs for maintenance and upkeep of building and furniture, as well as surrounding and general equipment of the provincial electoral office and conduct minor repairs where possible.
Requirements
- The successful candidate must be in possession of a matric/N3 or junior certificate plus 3 years relevant working experience;
- have basic knowledge of operational protocols and field of work;
- good sense of direction;
- knowledge and awareness of the province;
- basic office administration skills;
- ability to read maps;
- knowledge and understanding of a GPS tracker;
- good verbal and written communication skills;
- good organizing skills and computer literacy;
- the successful candidate must have a valid driver's license and must be prepared to travel extensively.
