INDEPENDENT DEVELOPMENT TRUST (IDT)
The IDT is a Schedule 2 Public Entity, established as a development management agency. Its primary role is to influence, support and add value to the national agenda. The IDT is mandated to measurably impact on the eradication of poverty and to improve the quality of life of poor, rural and marginalised communities. To assist us in achieving this, we wish to appoint dynamic individuals in the following positions:
POST : CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
JOB LEVEL : EU
REGION : NATIONAL OFFICE
LOCATION : PRETORIA
DURATION : 5 YEAR CONTRACT
PORTFOLIO : FSU
PURPOSE :To manage and direct the organisational financial management function, which function entails assisting the CEO and the Accounting Authority in discharging the relevant duties under Part 2 of Chapter 6 of the Public Finance Management Act.
REPORTING : Chief Executive Officer
REQUIREMENTS : A minimum of the following:
A Charted Accounting (CA) Qualification.
A Post Graduate Degree in Leadership or completion of an Executive Management Programme.
Completion of Articles of Clerkship with an accredited accounting and/or auditing firm.
A Minimum of 15 years’ finance management experience of which 10 must have been at a senior management level. Experience as a CFO in a medium to large organisation will be an added advantage. Competencies: Financial management, Business planning, Budget management, PFMA and relevant national treasury regulations, Strategic management, Management information systems, Financial reporting, Financial ratio analysis, Financial accounting standards Project accounting. Skills Conceptual, Visionary thinking, Analytical, Interpersonal, Talent building, Communication, Problem solving, Business acumen, Negotiation, Presentation and Contract management

DUTIES :Financial Management Strategy, Planning and Systems, Financial Accounting Services and Reporting, Provision of Project Accounting Services and Programme Financial Information Systems, Provision of Management Accounting Services, Provision of Supply Chain Management Services, Provision of Asset Management Services, Provision of Financial Internal Control Services, Management of Internal and External Audits, Unit Financial Management and Governance, Unit Performance Management and Strategic Leadership.
