JOB LEVEL : C3
SALARY : Total Monthly Package (CTC) – R33,055
LOCATION : ICASA (Head Office – Centurion)
POSITION STATUS : Five Months Contract
Purpose of the job
To evaluate and produce reports on content coverage of 2021 Local Government Elections by Broadcasting Service Licensees in terms of sections 56, 57, 58 and 59 of the Electronic Communications Act No. 36 of 2005 as well as Regulations governing the 2021 Local Government Elections on behalf of the Elections Monitoring Committee as established by Council of ICASA and the Licensing and Compliance Division.
Key Outputs: The successful candidate will report to the Manager: Broadcasting Compliance, and their responsibilities will include: ● Monitoring compliance with Electronic Communications Act and Election Coverage regulations which includes political advertisement and party election broadcast ● Data capturing and identify issues covered by the broadcasting Licensees during election period ● Report non-compliance ● Compile reports on compliance as required.

Qualifications and Experience: ● Post Matric qualification/Tertiary education such as Media Studies, Journalism, Law, Commerce ● 1-2 years’ working experience ● Knowledge of broadcasting regulatory environment, understanding of SA political landscape ● Prior knowledge and experience in elections or broadcasting monitoring and ICT sector will be an added advantage ● Proficiency in at least 4 official South African Languages.
