INVITATION TO SERVE ON THE IKHALA TVET COLLEGE COUNCIL
Ikhala TVET College Council seeks to appoint suitably qualified, experienced and competent individuals to serve as Section 10 (6) appointees, in terms of Continuing Education and Training Act, 16 of 2006, as amended. Applications are hereby invited from suitably qualified, experienced and competent candidates who meet the following criteria:
1. An elected donor must have been recognized and registered in the register of donors kept at the College as per Item 40 of the Schedule to the Act.
2. To be recognized as a donor, an elected donor must:
2.1 be a South African Citizen or a Company incorporated under the South African laws;
2.2 be registered with the South African Revenue Service;
2.3 not be under any investigation for money related transactions in the Republic or elsewhere under any law;
2.4 must not be under administration/insolvency proceedings/business rescue proceedings;
2.5 In the case of a company, a resolution for effecting donation should be made available to the College;
2.6 In the case of an individual, partnerships, a joint resolution and/or consent by the other spouse should be made available to the College. The elected donor should have shown interest in advancing quality education; and
2.7 The elected donor must not have a conflict of interest with the College or should not be conducting any other business with the College nor future business, save after two years had expired since the resignation, removal or disqualification and a resolution to that effect must be kept by the College.
2.8 The elected donor shall serve for a period equivalent to the Council.
2.9 The Council shall deliberate and through a resolution decide on the successful donor to the Council.
Preference will be given to applicants with experience serving on councils/boards. Experience of TVET (Technical and Vocational Education and Training) sector and affiliation to professional bodies will be an added advantage. Applicants should have no business or personal relationships with the college, directly or otherwise.

_ Communication Skills
To Apply: Applications must be submitted with signed covering letter, detailed Curriculum Vitae which clearly state the applicant’s experience and professional membership (where applicable) and not older than 6 months certified copies of all qualifications. The detailed CV should have at least 3 contactable references in respect of experience, both as an employee and as a council/board member. Lastly, applications should indicate their current residential address on CV.
Failure to submit signed covering letter and detailed CV will result in the application not to be considered. Late applications will not be accepted. Suitable candidates will be subjected to a personnel suitability check (criminal record, citizenship, credit record checks, qualification verification and employment verification) and the College may invite suitable candidates for interview.
