MAINTENANCE ASSISTANT

SALARY : Total Annual Package (CTC) â R189,397.00
LOCATION: ICASA Head Office
POSITION STATUS : Permanent
Purpose of the job
To provide a positive, conducive working environment and high standard of building and facilities maintenance.
Key Outputs: The successful candidate will report to the Manager: Administration, and their responsibilities will include:
Building and assets maintenance
â Install, repair (disassemble & re-assemble), maintain, and care for buildings, its fixtures, equipment/assets â Perform routine and preventive maintenance on all assets & resources of ICASA â Performs minor plumbing repairs (unblocking toilets and drains etc.) â Conduct minimal repairs on furniture and equipment â Performance of ad hoc building request â Complete all daily maintenance requests and report any unfinished work to the facilities office.

Facilities Support Services
â Delivery and collection of groceries and items to various programmes and offices â Assist other programs with preparation of stakeholderâs function â Performing recurring tasks such as delivery and collection of bulk items (carrying, moving volumes of documents â applications, filing) â Preparation of Presentation, Canteen and Boardrooms for public hearings â Setting up recording equipment for official ICASA meetings â Assist with asset verification processes â Assist with physical movement of asset to various offices/boardrooms â Assist with safe keeping of stored items in basement and storerooms â Assist with photocopying and binding of bulk documents â Accompany service providers when maintenance work is done â Checks & perform daily schedule for assigned routine tasks & maintenance repair jobs.
Safe house keeping
â Assist ICASA in its compliance with Occupational Health and Safety regulations âCheck that all emergency doors are not obstructed, remove and report any obstructions â Check that all emergency doors are fitted with safety brackets for easy opening during emergency evacuations â Arrange store rooms and check that they are safely packed and clean all the time â Assist with identification & completion of facilities risk assessment
Qualifications and Experience: â Must have a Relevant National Diploma / 3 year (NQF L6) â 2-4 year working experience in facilities maintenance â 2-3 years performing facilities maintenance duties, similar to those specified above.
Key Competencies and Attributes: â Physical fitness â Attention to detail â Basic administrative and writing skills â Basic record keeping skills â Problem solving.
