HOUSING DEVELOPMENT AGENCY (HDA)
 
The Housing Development Agency (HDA) is a national public sector development agency that inter alia has the mandate to identify, acquire, prepare and develop suitable land for human settlements. The Agency also undertakes the programme and project management for development of housing and human settlements. The HDA carries out its functions in partnership with a range of stakeholders including national, provincial and local government as well as with communities, developers and financiers. Established in 2009, the Agency was established by an Act of Parliament in 2008 and is accountable through its Board to the Minister of Human Settlements.

​The HDA has the following: Six (6) Month Temporary contract position.
Temporary Specialist: Brand Architecture
Location: Head Office – Johannesburg 
Reporting Line: Manager: Marketing and Communications
Ref: HDABAS01
 
Main Purpose: The Brand Architect is responsible for developing and maintaining the HDA’s brand strategy and identity, ensuring it aligns with the overall brand corporate identity and business goals and resonates with target audiences. This role involves crafting a compelling brand narrative, overseeing brand design elements, and guiding marketing strategies to enhance brand visibility and engagement. The role works closely with project teams, marketing, and business development to align branding efforts with the entity’s goals to foster collaboration between design and marketing teams to create compelling narratives.
 
Key Performance Areas:
1. Brand Building and brand Identity 
  • Define brand vision, mission and values by implementing comprehensive branding plans and strategies. 
  • Contribute to the Marketing and communication strategy. 
  • Analyse industry trends, competitive landscapes, and client feedback to inform branding initiatives. 
  • Develop and enforce brand guidelines, ensuring internal and external stakeholders understand and adhere to HDA’s branding standards. (CI manual Promotional and branding material and branding of offices). 
  • Build HDA’s brand Value Proposition (VP) as governments developer of choice. 
  • Brand Archetypes for the HDA by formulating a brand positioning statement. 
  • Brand Voice, define the tone, style, and language the HDA brand will use in communications.
  • Brand Personality, build a relationship between internal and external stakeholders.
 
2. Brand Communication and Promotion 
  • Establish and maintain a cohesive brand identity that embodies the essence of HDA’s design philosophy, ensuring consistency across all marketing materials and communication channels (i.e. presentations, letterheads, memorandums, templates, forms). 
  • Act as a brand custodian across all platforms. 
  • Develop marketing and promotional materials, collateral, and brand guidelines for all brand requirements and events. 
  • Marketing Campaigns: Developing campaigns that align with the brand identity and reach target audiences effectively. 
  • Contribute to the look and feel for digital Media, engaging with audiences through consistent and authentic digital presence. Develop, maintain, and enhance the company’s intranet platform.
 
3. Build Brand Equity 
  • Provide creative oversight for marketing campaigns, ensuring all visual and verbal communications reflect HDA’s brand standards and design aesthetics. 
  • Formulate, manage, and coordinate the production of key strategic brand initiatives. 
  • Planning and managing all promotional and branding briefs for agencies / service providers Supervision and preparation of the content for the HDA web site ensuring consistency of the materials.
 
4. Brand Experience Management 
  • Identity Client Experience (CX) Strategy: Designing interactions that reflect the brand identity across all touchpoints. 
  • Touchpoint Analysis: Assessing and improving various customer interactions (website, social media, customer service) to ensure brand consistency. 
  • Monitoring and Analysis: Regularly assessing brand performance through metrics like brand awareness, customer loyalty, and market share. 
  • Enhance presentation of projects at activations and exhibitions.
 
5. Qualifications & Experience 
  • Bachelor’s degree in strategic Brand Management Marketing, Advertising or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in brand management, marketing, or advertising, with a proven track record of developing successful brand strategies. 
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in strategic planning, brand and advertising execution. 
  • Understanding of human settlements sector (Added advantage). 
  • Knowledge of industry regulations (Membership affiliations MASA). 
  • Valid driver’s license.





​Remuneration: 
R 55 741 – R 72 466 per month (all-inclusive package) 
Period: Six months
