The Health Professions Council of South Africa is a statutory body that protects the interests of the public and guides the professions through the establishment and maintenance of standards of education, training, and professional conduct of relevant health care professionals.
INVITATION TO SERVE AS A SPECIALIST MEMBER OF THE REMUNERATION MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE (REMCO) OF HPCSA (X2 MEMBERS)
REQUIREMENTS
- Must not be employed by or doing business with the Health Professions Council of South Africa.
- Must have a relevant National Diploma or Degree in HR/ Commerce/ Industrial Psychology/ Social Science.
- The following professional qualifications would be advantageous: Psychometrics or Global Reward/ Remuneration Practitioner.
- Formal training in Remunerations and Benefits fundamentals.
- 10 years’ experience in remuneration environment (salary benchmarking, design, policy formulation), and understanding of the legal and regulatory environment as it relates to employee benefits.
- 5 years’ experience in reviewing, implementing, and maintaining efficient processes and systems.
- Experience in project management or leadership and providing report to executive management.
THE ROLE OF REMUNERATION SPECIALIST MEMBER OF REMUNERATION MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE WILL BE TO:
- To provide strategic oversight to Council, subject-matter expertise, consult and resolve reward issues as per market trends, surveys legislation and equity issues.
- Provide input in the development of long- and short-term plans (e.g. policies, procedures, staffing) for the purpose of ensuring that organisational objectives are achieved in the most efficient and timely manner.
- Provide expert knowledge in the revision processes of salary matters for conformance to established guidelines, policies and practices for the purpose of ensuring that salary adjustments are correct.
- In partnership with HR, respond to written and verbal inquiries from a variety of internal and external stakeholders for the purpose of resolving problems, providing information to identified issues.
- Participate in meetings that involve a range of issues including the negotiating of collective agreements, benefits and compensation policies on behalf of the employer.
- Provide expert knowledge on salary increase requests and overseeing the management of pension and saving plans.
- Must be prepared to meet as often as required, but at least 4 times a year, and must be flexible with regard to times.
