REMUNERATION PACKAGE: MARKET-RELATED PACKAGE 
Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) hereby invites applications for the post of Registrar of HPCSA from suitable candidates.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS 
 A degree in any of the Health Professions under the Health Professions Act, 1974 (Act 56 of 1974) as well as a valid registration with HPCSA. 
 At least 10 years' experience in senior management leadership, minimum 5 years' must be active in the health industry. (Organisation size similar or bigger than HPCSA). 
 A national diploma or degree in Business Management. 
 
ADDED ADVANTAGE 
 Post graduate qualification in health. 
 MBA/ MBL/ Related qualification at NQF level 9. 
 
COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS 
 Strong Leadership skills 
 Excellent Strategic & operational skills 
 Sound understanding of governance structures 
 Working knowledge of administrative law 
 Thorough knowledge of educational, training and development structures of specific health professions 
 Clear understanding of decision-making process in statutory organisations 
 People management skills 
 Excellent conflict resolution skills 
 A Strategic Thinker with experience in leading a large organisation would be ideal for this role. 
 
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES AND KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS 
 Develop, review and update HPCSA’s vision, related strategies and structures and strategic objectives and ensure alignment and integration of the Council’s policies, strategic plans and the Health Professions ACT. 
 Develop regulatory and legislative frameworks for educational standards, professional practice and ethical norms as well as professional conduct compliance procedures. 
 Ensure that the Policy and procedure/guidelines database for the HPCSA are updated and remain current. 
 Lead, manage and monitor the implementation of strategic frameworks and support HPCSA and Professional Boards. 
 Ensure sound international relations and strategic positioning of Council. 
 Facilitate strategic planning sessions for the Council and the Boards. 
 Develop governance charters and Terms of Reference for Council and Professional Boards. 
 Review international benchmarks on best regulatory regimes and extrapolate to South African context. 
 Oversee registration of health professionals and ensure compliance with the Regulations for registrations. 
 Represent the HPCSA at various public platforms to create public awareness on HPCSA’s processes and business. 
 Oversee management of professional conduct processes in line with the Regulations. 
 Investigate and evaluate new technologies, systems and processes to enhance services and manage risks. 
 Oversee management of infrastructure and Finances. 
 Manage and monitor organizational risks and ensure implementation of mitigation strategies.

Successful candidate will be required to travel extensively.
