HEAD: CORPORATE SERVICES
 
The Government Employees Pension Fund (GEPF) is the largest pension fund in Africa, with more than 1.2 million active members and around 480 000 pensioners and beneficiaries as well as assets worth more than R1.6 trillion. As the sixth largest pension fund in the world, the fund is seen to be a leader on a number of retirement fund related aspects. The GEPF is currently looking for a suitably qualified individual with the relevant experience to fill the role of Head of Corporate Services in the Office of the Principal Executive Officer.
 
 
Purpose of the role: Reporting to the Principle Executive Officer, the Head of Corporate Services is responsible tolead, manage and oversee the internal operations and corporate services within the Government Employees PensionFund. This includes the legal, regulatory compliance, finance, human resources, Information CommunicationTechnology, supply chain management and facilities management functions within the organisation.
 
Key Responsibilities: • Provide strategic direction to and management of the corporate services business unit • Oversee the provision of financial management services • Oversee the provision of supply chain managementservices • Oversee facilities management services • Oversee compliance function and the provision of legal adviceand counsel to the Organisation • Oversee the provision of human resources management and delivery of HRfunctions • Oversee the management of ICT services • Manage and develop corporate services staff • Stakeholderengagement and management.
 
 
Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and Skills: • An appropriate Bachelor's Degree is required • A Postgraduate Degree in Management or other relevant post-graduate qualification will be desirable • A minimum of 8 years' experience as an Executive/Senior Manager of which at least 3 years' experience in a similar role, managing corporate support functions in a complex organisation • Experience in the financial services sector would be desirable • Strong business orientation with proven competence and application of management and leadership skills across disciplines • Demonstrated knowledge and experience of relevant legislation, principles, and application.
