SPECIALIST KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT

The position of Specialist Knowledge Management is vacant. The Specialist Knowledge Management will report directly to the Senior Manager: Knowledge Management and forms part of the Research and Development Division. The position is based at GEMS Head Office, Pretoria
The total remuneration package is based on qualifications and experience.
The Specialist: Knowledge Management will be responsible for the planning and implementation of Knowledge Management strategy, policies, systems and support the creation of an enabling environment for innovation through the following
Key Performance areas ( KPA’s):
- Implement the GEMS Knowledge Management Strategy.
- Develop and implement knowledge management policies and procedures.
- Plan and implement knowledge management systems/portals.
- Plan and implement knowledge manage learning and knowledge sharing programmes.
- Support the GEMS Library to facilitate access to print and digital publications, journals, and databases.
- Support R&D and innovation programmes.
- Support the records management programmes.
- Facilitate knowledge management training.
Qualification requirements are:
- Degree / diploma in Information Science or similar.
- Minimum of 4-8 years of work experience in Knowledge Management at a middle management level.
- Experience in the planning and implementation of knowledge management systems / portals.
- Experience in the planning and implementation of learning and knowledge sharing programmes.
Behavioural Competencies:
- Implementation and Understanding and Business Continuity environment, planning and practices.
- Attention to detail is non-negotiable.
- Excellent Turnaround and Organised with good time management skills.
- Sound Project Management skills are critical.
- Analytical and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as well as part of a team.
- Computer literate at advanced level.
- Diligent work ethic with attention to detail
- Self-motivated and pro-active
- Resilient pressure management abilities
- Understanding of medical schemes industry
- Membership or accreditation with a professional body
