SPECIALIST: MARKETING AND COMMUNICATION
Type: Permanent

The position of Specialist: Marketing and Communication is vacant. The Specialist: Marketing and Communication will report directly to the Senior Manager: Marketing and Communication and forms part of the Member Service and Experience Division. The position is based at Head Office in Pretoria.
The remuneration package for this position is negotiable based on qualifications and experience.
The Specialist: Marketing and Communication will be required to provide support to the Senior Manager: Marketing and Communications through the implementation of the following Key Performance Areas (KPAs):

The Specialist: Marketing and Communication will be required to provide support to the Senior Manager: Marketing and Communications through the implementation of the following Key Performance Areas (KPAs):
- Develop and implement an integrated marketing and communication strategy to support the Scheme business objectives.
- Strategically plan, organise, control, analyse and coordinate the design, development and maintenance of an interactive brand, marketing and external communication strategy and the organisational integration thereof.
- Identify and develop content for dissemination to media houses for brand awareness and stakeholder education.
- Ensure Scheme messages are communicated to external stakeholders in a clear, timely and effective manner, using a high impact writing style and format.
- Plan, organise, direct, control, analyse and coordinate the design, development, and maintenance of strategically planned integrated brand awareness campaigns.
- Create specific marketing and communication plans, timelines and defined deliverables that support the communication of messages which aid the Scheme in driving engagements and deliver results.
- Coordinate and ensure brand awareness programmes and marketing and communication activities are completed on time and on budget.
- Plan, organise, direct, control, analyse and coordinate the design, development and maintenance of the marketing and member servicing strategy to support the Scheme’s strategic objectives.
- Plan, organise, direct, control, analyse and coordinate the design, development, and maintenance of the strategic marketing events to support the Scheme’s objectives and define the company brand through event opportunities.
- Strategically support internal business units and maintain relations by representing and advancing the Scheme with various relevant stakeholders, partner organisations, government, and its constituencies.
Qualification requirements are:
- Diploma/Degree in Marketing and Communication, Public Relations, or equivalent NQF qualifications.
- 3-5 Years’ work experience in marketing and communication environment, branding and or advertising.
- Understanding of the Medical Scheme industry advantageous.
- Experience in the execution of targeted marketing and communication campaigns.
- Proven ability to develop and implement key campaigns for external stakeholders.
- Experience in project management and brand awareness.
- Be confident at influencing at all levels of the organisation and be more than approachable with internal personal skills.
- Be adaptable, proactive, deadline driven, results orientated, highly organised and detail orientated.
- Demonstrate expert proficiency with MS Windows/ MS Office Applications.
- Enjoy working in a fast-paced professional environment.
- Be a self-starter, able to work with general direction and exercise independent judgement.
- Be aware of and mitigate enterprise risk factors and ensure compliance to applicable legislation, and GEMS Policies and Procedure.A Law Degree/ BCom Law/ Relevant Degree/Diploma.

COMPLIANCE MANAGER
Type: Permanent
Salary: The total remuneration package will be based on qualifications and experience.
The position of Compliance Manager is currently vacant. The Compliance Manager will report directly to the Senior Manager: Compliance and Ethics and form part of the Risk Management and Compliance Division. The position is based in Head Office Pretoria.
The total remuneration package for this position is negotiable based on qualifications and experience
The Compliance Manager will provide support to the Senior Manager: Compliance and Ethics through the implementation of the following Key Performance Areas (KPAs):
- Monitoring and ensuring the Scheme’s and its Service Provider Network’s compliance with all applicable legislation and regulations, the Scheme Rules, policies, standard operating procedures, governance controls, and directives of the Council for Medical Schemes; reviewing, interpreting, maintaining and advising on the Scheme’s Rules, policies, standard operating procedures, schedules and related compliance checklists; and conducting workshops on pertinent legislation affecting the Scheme;
- Assisting with the planning and execution of the Scheme’s Compliance and Ethics Forums and Policy Review Forum;
- Conducting the Scheme’s assurance to practice and implement King IV Principles.
- Ensuring the end-to-end compliance process in line with generally accepted compliance principles (CISA) is adhered to by the Scheme; and
- Keeping abreast of all pertinent legislation, regulatory requirements and supervisory notices that apply to the Scheme.
Qualification requirements are:
- A Law Degree/ BCom Law/ Relevant Degree/Diploma.
- Certificate in Compliance Management or CISA-accredited Compliance practitioner would be advantageous or
- At least 5-8 years’ work experience in a compliance, risk, governance and ethics environment
- Exposure to POPI and data related legislation
- Experience in developing a King IV disclosure register.
- Experience in successfully managing medium to large projects.
- Proven writing skills.
- Analytical and monitoring skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to identify risks and challenges.
- Ability to engage with various stakeholders.
