The Senior Manager: Facilities will be required to provide support to Chief Corporate Service Officer through the implementation of the following Key Performance Areas (KPAs):
- Plan and maintain the office infrastructure for a healthy work environment;
- Manage Technical Service Contracts and Service Level Agreements;
- Manage Security and Cleaning Services;
- Establish work procedures and processes for all hard services, soft services and business support functions;
- Accountable for planning, scheduling, monitoring and execution all maintenance related aspects, building information management systems, planned inspections and auditing of building(s) within the portfolio;
- Identify, evaluate, prioritize and implement energy and water cost optimisation and smart building initiatives;
- Representation in project design and site meeting in the case of developments, refurbishments and extensions;
- Regulating framework tracking and reporting to ensure compliance to legislation as well as business operating practices and procedures;
- Direct the development, implementation and monitoring of an effective strategy to mitigate risks, and maintain continuity of operations; and.
- Plan, manage, and drive the office building construction against cost, quality, and time.
Qualification Requirements:
- A Degree/Post graduate diploma (NQF level 7) Environment-related subject or a degree in a related discipline.
- 1 year experience in Green Building Facilities Management and 5-8 years’ experience in Facilities at a Managerial Level.
- Registration with South African Facilities Management Association (SAFMA) will be an added advantage;
Skills
- A working knowledge of building management, preventative maintenance programs, mechanical equipment, air conditioning, fire systems, emergency power and the OHS Act
- Excellent Project Management skills, to oversee and coordinate green building initiatives and sustainability projects, including planning, resource allocation, risk management
- Demonstrate strong facilities management skills, including managing building operations, maintenance, and infrastructures. Including HVAC systems, electrical and plumbing systems, building automation and energy management
- Regulatory knowledge related to sustainable building practices, energy efficiency, waste management and environmental protection
- Possess strong inter personal skills and communication skills to effectively collaborate with various stakeholders.
- Proficiency in collecting, analysing and interpreting data related to energy usage, water consumption, waste generation, and other sustainability metrics
- Provide leadership to facility management team, promoting a culture of sustainability and guiding staff in implementing Scheme initiatives.
