The Opportunity
The Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Principal plays a pivotal role in embedding risk management as an enabler of safe, reliable production across the Copper business. The role is accountable for strengthening the application of the Enterprise Risk Management Framework through effective business partnering and the delivery of clear, actionable risk insights that inform executive decision making and drive improved performance. 
 
Working as part of the Global Copper Risk Team, the role supports the delivery of the Enterprise Risk Management Strategy and Framework, strengthens risk ownership, and contributes to building a strong risk management culture across Glencore's Copper assets.

Key Accountabilities:


 Enterprise Risk Framework & Capability
  • Oversee and continuously assess the effectiveness of the Copper Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Framework through routine reporting, key risk metrics, and analytical insights.
  • Partner with Leadership teams, Risk Business Partners, and Risk Owners to provide risk management guidance and support across the Copper portfolio.
  • Strengthen first‑line risk capability by coaching, constructively challenging, and objectively verifying risk management practices across Copper assets.
 
 Reporting & Risk Insights
  • Lead the development of Copper’s routine risk reports for senior leadership.
  • Analyse trends and risk data to generate insights that support executive-level decision-making.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and visualisation tools to enhance understanding of risk exposure and control effectiveness.
 
Business Partnering
  • Partner with asset Risk Business Partners, functional risk teams, site General Managers, and functional leaders to embed risk ownership.
  • Coordinate and facilitate risk reviews, deep dives, and risk forums as required.
  • Champion a strong and consistent risk culture across the Copper business.
  • Provide comprehensive risk management support, including training, to stakeholders across operations, projects, and functional areas.
 
ERM System
  • Administer and continuously improve the Copper ERM system to ensure accuracy, usability, and effective adoption.
  • Maintain the risk system as the single source of truth for material risk information.
  • Oversee key risk management metrics including risk reviews, critical control verifications, and risk treatment actions.
 
Continuous Improvement
  • Collaborate with the Copper ERM Lead to develop clear, compelling,  risk presentations for senior leadership.
  • Synthesize complex risk information into concise executive narratives and visual insights to support decision-making.
  • Support ongoing enhancement of Copper’s ERM framework, systems, and reporting processes.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to streamline risk practices and strengthen assurance outcomes.
 
 Your training, skills & expertise checklist:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in enterprise risk management, operational risk, or a related discipline within the resources sector.
  • Strong foundation in mining operations, with site-based experience highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience working across both operational and corporate environments. 
  • Demonstrated experience within both operations and corporate environments.
  • Experience working across multiple geographies; global or cross-regional exposure is highly advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of risk systems, governance, and reporting in large, complex organisations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including executive-level presentation development.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence at senior leadership level.
  • Knowledge of risk management standards (ISO 31000, COSO, RIMS) and/or formal risk certification (e.g. IRM) highly regarded.
  • Professional fluency in English required.

JOB PURPOSE:
Joining a dynamic team, the successful incumbent will have the opportunity to gain insight into the risk department. Supply Chain Business Process Owner (BPO)

The Supply Chain BPO is business-oriented and operates across the organisation to ensure communication flows horizontally to and from upstream and downstream processes and teams.
The role operates within a broad community of practice spanning operational, technical, and change management groups. Success depends on bringing the right people together, gaining alignment, and facilitating agreement across regions and functions.
The Supply Chain BPO is a global advisory and governance role responsible for monitoring and guiding compliance across Procure-to-Pay (P2P), Source-to-Contract (S2C), and Contractor Lifecycle processes. The position identifies deviations, provides evidence-based recommendations, and can support or lead corrective actions in collaboration with regional teams as needed. While the BPO does not perform day-to-day operational tasks, it ensures that all supply chain activities are aligned with global standards, policies, and best practices. The role promotes process thinking, cultural change, and knowledge sharing across regions, acting as a coach and facilitator to embed consistency, compliance, and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
Comply and implement all internal company policies, and national and international regulations governing the mining industry's supply chain, leading by example. Responsible for ensuring that the entire work team knows and understands these policies and regulations, leading the solution of any situation that may arise from non-compliance.
  • Process Optimization: Evaluate, redesign, and optimize supply chain processes across Procure-to-Pay (P2P), Source-to-Contract (S2C), and Contractor Lifecycle (CLM) to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and implement industry best practices. Identify bottlenecks, streamline workflows, and recommend process improvements.
  • Global Coordination: Harmonize strategies and standards across regions, ensuring cohesive supply chain execution worldwide. Collaborate with regional teams to align processes and practices, considering local nuances while maintaining global consistency.
  • Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous improvement within supply chain and contractor management functions. Encourage innovation, assess processes for optimization opportunities, and implement changes to adapt to evolving industry standards and business needs.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Facilitate alignment across cross-functional teams and regions. Communicate strategies clearly, support problem-solving, and enable collaborative solutions to challenges.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Monitor and ensure compliance with all relevant industry regulations, internal policies, and standards. Recommend corrective measures and support or lead actions to resolve deviations or risks.
