REQUIREMENTS:
• Trade test certificate as Electrician
• Code C1 Driver’s License
• Computer Literate
• 5 years experienced as an Electrician in a municipal environment
• Ability to communicate in at least 2 of the official languages of the Western Cape
• Certificate of competency in the operation of truck – and mounted cranes will be an advantage
• Certification in Basic First Aid to be completed within a specific period from date of employment
SPECIAL CONDITIONS ATTACHED TO THE POSITION:
• Be physically able bodied and fit
• Be able to work at heights
• Good sight and hearing
• Must be willing to undergo specific training / courses in order to function effectively in the various sub-sections
• Required to work in adverse weather conditions and on uneven terrain
• Be prepared to work outside normal working hours.

• Have the ability to perform switching operations on electrical networks
• Have ability to read technical drawings
• Have ability to work independently.
DUTIES:
• Responsible for the repairs and maintenance of the electrical motors at Pump
• To Ensure that the pump stations function at a high level of functionality to prevent any sewerage spillage, freshwater waste-age, damage to eco system, damage to expensive equipment and to ensure an uninterrupted supply of supply of fresh Water to the town
• To monitor and safeguard Council property and equipment with a live tracking system to prevent theft, damage and vandalism
• To conform the pump- stations to advance standards, demands and development of specifications
• Attend to the maintenance and repairs of electrical works at all the municipal buildings
• Attend to the termination of illegal electricity connections and related complaints,
• Attend to the maintenance and repairs of the electrical installations and faults that are detected
• And to restore the functionality with minimal disruption to services
• Connect and supply new consumers with electricity
• Record all complaints completed
• Follow the safety guidelines when tasks are executed in accordance with standards associated with quality workmanship
• Apply guidelines and procedures with the use of Municipal vehicles
• Arrange for the removal of vegetation from electrical installations as a result of over growing or storm damage

VEREISTES:
• Vaktoets sertifikaat as Elektrisiën
• Kode C1-bestuurderslisensie
• Rekenaar geletterdheid
• 5 Jaar ervaringas ‘n Elektrisië in 'n munisipale omgewing
• Die vermoë om in ten minste twee van die amptelike tale van die Wes-Kaap te kan kommunikeer
• 'n Sertifikaat van bekwaamheid in die bestuur van vragmotors en gemonteerde hyskrane wat na goed dunke van die werkgewer verkry moet word
• Sertifisering in basiese noodhulp moet binne 'n spesifieke tydperk vanaf indiensneming voltooi word
SPESIALE VOORWAARDES AAN DIE POSISIE:
• Moet liggaamlik fiks wees
• Moet in staat wees om op hoogtes te werk
• Goeie sig en gehoor
• Moet bereid wees om spesifieke opleiding / kursusse te ondergaan om effektief in die verskillende onderafdelings te funksioneer
• Verpligtend om in ongunstige weerstoestande en ongelyke terrein kan werk
• Verpligtend ombuite normale werksure te werk
• Bereid te wees om Bystand pligte te doen
• Die vermoë hê om skakelwerk op Elektriese netwerke uit te voer
• Die vermoë om tegniese tekeninge te lees
• Die vermoë om onafhanklik te werk
PLIGTE:
• Verantwoordelik vir die herstel en onderhoud van elektriese pompstasies.
• Verantwoordelik om toe te sien dat die pomp-stasies op 'n hoë vlak funksioneer om sodoende rioolstorting, vermorsing van varswater te voorkom, skade aan die ekostelsel te voorkom, skade aan duur toerusting te voorkom en om ononderbroke toevoer van vars water aan die dorp te voorsien
• Die moniteering en beskerming van Raads eiendom en toerusting “ deur middel van ‘n “Live tracking system” om diefstal, skade en vandalisme te voorkom
• Reël dat die pompstasies voldoen aan die voorgeskrewe standaarde, riglyne en die ontwikkelings spesifikasies
• Doen Elektriese Installasies, foute opspoor en herstel werk,
• Doen die Elektriese Instandhouding van Munisipale geboue
• Verantwoordelik vir die hantering en beëindiging van die onwettige elektrisiteits konneksies en klagtes in die verband
• Doen nuwe installasies en voorsien nuwe verbruikers van elektrisiteit
• Hou rekord van alle klagtes wat afgehandel is
• Toepassing van die die installasie- en veiligheids riglyne met die uitvoering van take volgens voorgskrewe standaarde wat verband hou met kwaliteit vakmanskap
• Volg prosedure en riglyne met die gebruik van Raads voertuie
• Reël vir die verwydering van plantegroei by elektriese installasies as gevolg van oorgroei of stormskade
