Requirements: • Bachelor’s Degree in computer science / Information Technology (or equivalent to NQF Level 7 essential) Post Graduate an added advantage / CCNP or CCIE • At least 10 (ten) years’ experience of which 5 (five) years has been at a senior level in ICT/Telco environment (essential) • Ability to demonstrate successful management (at least 5 years) of ICT networking function in a similar sized company • ITIL Certification, Prince 2 certification, ISO27001. • A strong background and experience in Operations Management and Planning would be added as advantage (Preferred) • A strong understanding of public institutions legislations (ICASA, MFMA, PFMA, MSA, POPI and HR related • A strong report writing capability for executives and Board • Ability to engage at Executive and Board level • Computer literate. • Must have driver’s license.
 
 
Duties: • Ensure that all networking implementation that MTC supports are secure, reliable, cost effective and fir for purpose • Develop and maintain a documented road map for the networking products that MTC supports, ensuring that these plans are understood and followed. • Work closed with suppliers and 3rd parties to ensure IT industry best practice is followed to deliver solutions efficiently and effectively • Contribute to the business cases for technology investments • Develop and deliver products and services • Develop and maintain processes for tracking of maintenance and support contract product licensing and budgetary expectations for the following financial year’s networking investments. • Engage in the Finance, SCM and Legal process of the entity and the City as and when required • Engage in the critical projects of the entity and that of the City as and when required • Responsible for Technical Strategy and Planning, Operational Management, Management of information system acquisition, Information system security and risk management.
