General Manager - Business Development

Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree in ICT or Business Management/NQF Level 7 or equivalent (essential) • Track record of sales activities with projections and sales revenue achieved • Track record as a sales manager in Telecommunications or ICT environment • Ability to manage a sales team following a defined sales lifecycle methodology • Ability to develop Sales pipeline tool with tracking mechanisms • Strong sales and marketing presentation skills • Strong pre-sales back round with understanding of technology and business • A strong background and experience in Strategic Management and Planning would be added as advantage (Preferred) • A strong understanding of public institutions legislations (ICASA, MFMA, PFMA, MSA, POPI and HR related • A strong report writing capability for executives and Board • Ability to engage at Executive and Board level • At least 8 years’ experience in business development (sales and marketing) with at least 5 years at Senior Management level (Preferred) with demonstrated ability to win • At least 3-5 years’ experience in similar environment and previous executive management experience in managing Public sector stakeholders is an advantage • Must have a valid driver’s license
Duties: • Achieve revenue target • Conduct sales business with business communities and residents of the City of Johannesburg • Reduce the cost of data in Johannesburg for CoJ, business communities and residents • Implement SMME development program through reselling of MTC services and solutions • Work with the GM: Network Operations and the CTO to develop product and services • Engage in the Finance, SCM and Legal process of the entity and the City as and when required • Engage in the critical projects of the entity and that of the City as and when required • Position and drive the MTC brand within all markets • Build improved customer intimacy while providing a frequent and consistent message • Regularly conduct customer visits to ensure that commitments are being met and resolve issues timeously • Demonstrate strategic, operational, customer and competitor knowledge • Collaborate closely with MTC internal functional support and other entities and departments on the capture plan and Customer interface.
