Title of the Job: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
(5-year contract)
Grade / Level E (Paterson)
Location: Sandton
Salary: Market related
 
 
Overall Responsibility: Provide strategic leadership and expert advice on the effective and efficient management of all Financial and Supply Chain Management, ICT Management, Portfolio Management, Capital Raising and Treasury Function.
 
Key Performance Areas:
• Drive the establishment and maintenance of the requisite structures, systems and processes to provide for sound financial and management accounting, supply chain and asset management for GPF • Contribute to organisation’s strategic development regarding financial strategy, functioning and performance to ensure sustainability • Oversee GPF’s financial forecasting, budgeting and cash flow management • Provide strategic leadership to GPF’s ICT function, overseeing the development and implementation of sound ICT strategy, infrastructure and security framework • Provide strategic leadership to the GPF’s Portfolio Management as well as Loan Book performance • Ensure sound ethics, good governance and compliance within the Finance function
• Manage and minimise the GPF’s financial and risk exposure by maintaining an effective system if internal controls in liaison with the relevant assurance providers • Accurate financial reporting in accordance with IFRS, PFMA and other relevant regulatory requirements and international Standards • Provide EXCO with advice on the financial implications of business activities and provide consultative support to planning initiatives through financial and management information analysis, reports and recommendations • Provide financial reporting to the Board and Sub-Committee’s
 
Qualification & Experience: Minimum requirement: CA (SA) with appropriate Post-Graduate degree in Finance, Banking, Structured Finance. MBA will be an added advantage ● Minimum 8 years’ experience as CFO or at Executive level in similar sector.
 
Competencies: Astute financial management ● Extensive experience in funding and managing large capital ● Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations ● Expertise in strategic and business planning and budget management ● Strong leadership, communication, people management skills and experience in change management ● Ability to be proactive and innovative.
