2 YEARS CONTRACT I BRANCH: INSTITUTIONAL DEVELOPMENT SUPPORT AND INTEGRITY
MANAGEMENT I REF NO: 007458 I SALARY: R1 057 326 - R1 245 495 PER ANNUM
(ALL-INCLUSIVE REMUNERATION PACKAGE)
 
REQUIREMENTS: •Matric and NQF Level 7 qualification in Public Policy, Social Science/Gender Studies and a postgraduate qualification will be an advantage •A minimum of 5 or more years Middle Management experience and be fully conversant with the structure and operations of the Public sector and policy work in respect of LGBTQIA+ sector.
 
KEY COMPETENCIES: •Knowledge and understanding of Government priorities 'Strategic leadership, customer management, communication and problem solving skills  •Capabilities should include communication skills, research skills, advocacy skills, presentation skills, resource management, computer literacy, conceptual thinking, content development, critical and analytical skills  •Ability to work under pressure and willingness to work long hours.
 
 
DUTIES: •Establishment of a LGBTQIA+ Desk  •Manage the Institutionalisation of LGBTQIA+ issues in the provincial Departments 'Manage the intergovernmental coordination structures by establishing the LGBTQIA Provincial Forum to promote the rights of the sector  •Development of policies and strategies from the human right perspective  • Establish Partnership between state and civil society • Development of Interventions programmes •Manage financial and supply chain management and good governance  •Promote mainstreaming of services to the LGBTQIA+ sector  • Review and analyse acts, policies and frameworks which promote the rights of LGBTQIA+ sector  • Implement new programmes to assist targeted groups to access socio-economic opportunities  •Support the Premier and the province in championing the campaign against hate crimes.

REQUIREMENTS: •Matric and NQF Level 7 qualification in Social Science/Gender Studies/Public Policy or a postgraduate qualification will be an advantage  • Minimum of 3 years experience in junior management and policy work in respect of LGBTQIA and others  • Public sector experience  • Customer management skills, problem solving, communication and analytical skills.
 
DUTIES: •The incumbent's responsibility will be to promote a human rights-based culture in both Government and civil society in respect of LGBTQIA and others 'Develop the Provincial Intervention Strategy to respond to and prevent sex and gender-based violence crimes perpetrated against LGBTQIA persons 'Strengthen Government's ability to respond to the needs and specific vulnerability of LGBTQIA persons and strengthen the capacity of civil society organisations (CS0s) to deliver related services •Guide the development and design of new programmes that will seek to encourage and fast-track integration of LGBTQIA people in the communities  • Ensure that GPG departmental policies, strategies and programmes are free from LGBTQIA and others discrimination and promote equality  •Ensure LGBTQIA and other sectors are reached through awareness raising to increase access to Government services through educational programmes in the form of dialogues and workshops •Review and analyse acts, policies and frameworks which promote the rights of LGBTQIA and other focusing on, i.e. marriage, paternity, culture, education, health, safety and security, workplace, church and family rejection •Provide strategic leadership in coordinating and facilitating interventions targeting the sector • Provide strategic leadership in coordinating facilitating interventions targeting the sector 'Provide strategic leadership in facilitating and establishing partnerships between state and civil society  •Lead the review and development of legislative regulations to eliminate discriminatory practices in hospitals, Government Departments and service centres  • Oversee the development of media and other awareness campaigns that can play a role of sensitising the public on LGBTQIA+ and Other and reduce hate crimes.

SENIOR ASSISTANT STATE ATTORNEY
GRADE 2 (LP-6) I 2 YEARS CONTRACT I DIRECTORATE: SPECIAL LITIGATION UNIT
REF NO: 007394 I SALARY: R847 047 - R1 157 943 PER ANNUM (ALL-INCLUSIVE PACKAGE)
 
REQUIREMENTS: •An LLB degree •At least 8 years (LP-5) appropriate post-qualification litigation/advisory experience  • Knowledge of Public Service and other related legislations with regard to legal specifically on litigation •Good conflict resolutions, negotiation, management and communication skills  •Admitted as an Attorney.
 
DUTIES: •Mentor and advice on litigation process and procedures as well as on appropriate case law techniques •Conduct, analyse, interpret and advice on research that will provide information on litigation matters  •Draft legal documents, including Pleadings and Notices  •Mediate a dispute by identifying issues, developing options, considering alternatives and advising on the process of mediation  •Advice and decide on the approach to be followed to ensure success in litigation matters  • Conduct interviews with litigants in order to determine litigants goals and objectives and negotiate for prescribed determined offer • Advice litigants on possible courses of action with reference to litigant's instructions and legal entitlements pertaining to litigation matters  •Provide a detailed report of claimant to a Panel of Attorneys, if the matter is not settled that required a court order in order to be able to represent the Department in court • Advocate in High Court, if required.

REQUIREMENTS: •An LLB degree •At least 4 years (Assistant State Attorney, Grade t) post-qualification, litigation/advisory experience 'Good problem solving, customer orientation, decision making and communication skills.
 
DUTIES: •Provide a detailed report of claimant to a Panel of Attorneys, if the matter is not settled that required a court order in order to be able to represent the Department in court  •Investigate litigation claims guided by relevant legislations  •Ensure that records are collected immediately upon receipt of the Letter of Demand  •Mentor and advice on litigation process and procedures as well as on appropriate case law techniques  •Conduct, analyse, interpret and advice on research that will provide information on litigation matters •Draft legal documents, including Pleadings and Notices •Mediate a dispute by identifying issues, developing options, considering alternatives and advising on process of mediation "Advice and decide on the approach to be followed to ensure success in litigation matters 'Conduct interviews with litigants in order to determine litigants goals and objectives and negotiate for prescribed determined offer  •Advice litigants on possible courses of action with reference to litigant's instructions and legal entitlements pertaining to litigation matters.
