Requirements :

Grade 12, MBChB, Current registration with HPCSA as an independent Medical Practitioner Proof of current registration with HPCSA for the year 2025/2026. One year of experience in general surgery following the completion of community service. Ability to work commuted overtime to ensure continuous and uninterrupted patient care. Demonstration of good working ethics, including reliability, discipline, the capacity to work under pressure, and the ability to follow instructions from the consultants. Capability to function independently as well as effectively within a multidisciplinary team. Applicants must be solution-oriented and possess sound decision-making skills. Completion of surgical courses and CMSA will be regarded as advantageous.

Duties :

Deliver evidence-based, quality patient care. Manage general surgery patients in the Emergency Department, ICU, ward, and SOPD, which includes daily ward rounds, resuscitation, examination, and perioperative management. Participate in the training of interns and junior medical officers. Attend relevant administrative meetings, including morbidity and mortality meetings, academic presentations, and other training sessions within the hospital. Complete medico-legal documentation promptly (e.g., death certificates). Ensure that departmental administration and record keeping are maintained

Duties :

Effective overall management of the Accident and Emergency unit. Assess and ensure good quality clinical service delivery by: development and implementation of guidelines; providing training and support to students, medical interns, community service doctors, nursing staff, medical officers and specialists in the unit. Management and control of equipment. Optimize use of Human and other resources. Participate in relevant hospital and management committees. Encourage and support relevant research and publications. Effective networking across the referral cluster will be essential to optimise patient flow and maximise the utilisation of the limited NICU bed capacity. The candidate will be expected to oversee in- and outpatient follow-up for selected neonates who are not yet suitable for transfer to lower levels of care post-discharge. Duties :

Provide quality radiography services to all patients referred. Partake and ensure the provision of a 24-hour service delivery, night duty, disaster calls, weekends and public holidays. provide a high-quality Radiographic Training of students. Partake and facilitate sub-ordinate and student development. Advise departmental management on the development of the training plan. Continually assess the training and development needs of sub-ordinates and students allocated (where applicable). Partake in the Performance Management and Development System (PMDS) contracting and assessments for oneself and sub-ordinate staff. Report and alert supervisor/s all damages, repairs, incidents within the department and hospital at large. Participate and comply with the CPD programs for self-development. Observe all legislative frameworks. Participating in research studies where imaging is needed, in accordance with national and HPCSA research guidelines. Knowledge of the Supply Chain Management (SCM) and Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) prescripts. Perform stock control as mandated. Participate in the Multi-Disciplinary Teams (MDT) for clinical efficiency. Knowledge of supplier and service provider management. Conduct relevant and appropriate patient education before every procedure. Ensure the patient has consent for invasive procedures. Conduct reasonable patient assessment before and during procedures. Ensure correct patient receives correct and safe examinations. Rendering the imaging services with precaution to ensure maximal radiation safety and minimal exposure to patient safety incidents (PSI). Requirements :

MBChB & MMed degree or a relevant postgraduate qualification in Anaesthesiology and current registration with the HPCSA as a Specialist in Anaesthesiology. Grade 1 no experience required after registration with the HPCSA, as Medical Specialist in a normal Speciality. Grade 2: A minimum of 5 (Five) years appropriate experience as Medical Specialist after registration with the HPCSA as Medical Specialist in a normal Speciality and Grade 3 : A minimum of Ten(10) years appropriate experience as Medical Specialist after registration with the HPCSA as Medical Specialist in a normal Speciality Form part of the after-hours specialist cover for the Anaesthesiology Department. Be prepared to provide a 24hr clinical service. Must have a strong record of clinical governance; clinical expertise; research and experience of supervision, training and teaching at both under- and post-graduate levels. Publication record will be an added advantage. Must have good interpersonal, leadership, administrative, communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.

Duties :

Ensure effective and efficient clinical service delivery within the domain of the central hospital as well as at other cluster hospitals. Support, teach and examine pre-graduate and post-graduate students in the appropriate aspects of Clinical Unit. Initiate and participate in research activities and publications in accordance with the School of Medicine plans. Manage and perform required administrative and academic duties in support of and coordinated with the Head of Department.
