PROFESSIONAL NURSE (GENERAL STREAM) GRADE 1

Package: R256,905.00 per annum
 
 
Requirements
Basic R425 qualification i.e Diploma / Degree in Nursing, or equivalent qualification that allows registration with SANC as a Professional Nurse. Proof of current registration with SANC. A Minimum of one year’s experience in Nursing post registration as a general nurse with SANC and Community Service. If that period of experience was in a psychiatric environment, it will be considered as an advantage. Good Communication skills, both verbal and written. A valid driving license and Computer literacy will be considered as an added advantage.
 
Duties
Provision of optimal, holistic care of people with mental health needs in a multidisciplinary team context. Coordinate comprehensive care needs to patients in collaboration with other members of the caring team. Design, implement and evaluate the effectiveness of care programmes. Make requisitions and manage supplies in a cost effective, efficient and equitable manner. 
Deliver nursing care within the context of Mental Health Care Act and other applicable legislative framework and prescripts. Act as a Champion in other hospital extra-mural structures when required to do so. To be able to work night duty and public holidays. Demonstrate an understanding and implementation of the Ideal Hospital Framework and Batho-Pele Principles. Participate in other structures (committees) of the Hospital outside the unit to strengthen service delivery. Maintain own professional growth and ethical standards.
