Package: R 821,205 per annum (All-inclusive package)
Requirements
Appropriate qualification (MBBCh or equivalent) that allows registration with HPCSA as Medical Practitioner with Independent Practice at time of starting employment (i.e. those in community service who will finish community service and thus definitely get Independent Practice may apply). Candidate must be registered with HPCSA and have proof of current paid annual registration. Candidates who meet the following criteria may apply: Grade 1: No experience required but ED community service/experience is of benefit. Candidates with ALS certificates, Diploma in PEC or other relevant diploma, and/or ultrasound training/accreditation will get preference.
Duties
Shift work in the Emergency Medicine Department. Evaluation and clinical management of patients referred to the Emergency Department. Clinical training of undergraduates. Relevant administration functions as required including for medico legal purposes. Commuted overtime is compulsory.

It is a legislative requirement that all newly appointed staff members are subjected to Personnel Suitability Checks (PSC) – verification, upon appointment within the Department. This verification process entails reference checks, identity verification, qualifications verification, criminal record checks as well as a credit/financial stability check. Successful candidates will be subjected to OHS medical surveillance as required by HBA regulations within the OHS Act 85 of 1993. Correspondence will be limited to shortlisted candidates only.
