Requirements
Degree / National Diploma (NQF level 6) tertiary qualification in Social or Health Sciences / Public Administration or relevant tertiary qualification. Five (5) to ten (10) years’ experience in the public sector in a coordination including community liaison, stakeholder management and project management role. Demonstrate an understanding of the Traditional Health Practitioners Act, No .22 of 2007, Public Finance Management Act of 1999, Public Service Regulations of 2006 and supply chain management procedures. Must have knowledge of project management principles, report writing, communication skills (verbal & written), presentation skills, meeting procedures, problem solving skills and stakeholder relations management.
Duties
Manage, coordinate and monitor the Traditional Health Practitioners (THPs) programme. Develop and maintain the provincial database of Traditional Health Practitioners.
Develop the Provincial THP implementation plan and drive its execution. Promote registration of traditional health practitioners with Traditional Health Practitioners’ Registrar. Coordinate and support capacity building of the traditional health practitioners. Compile and submit monthly, quarterly and annual reports on the performance of the programme. Participate in National meetings and liaise with stakeholders. Ensure that THP sector meetings are convened in the province in compliance with National THP Communications Strategy guidelines.
