FACTOTUM / MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR

Job summary
To plan and effectively coordinates the installation, maintenance and repair work around the park complex. This includes supervision of teams of workers, regularly inspect sites, execute works necessary, maintain equipment and assign services providers to various projects. Solid understanding of building maintenance, repairs, refurbishments, cleaning and supervising staff
 
Key performance areas
  • Liaise with professional people, suppliers, representatives, agents and workers e.g. for the obtaining of quotations, placing of orders, receiving of goods and during the supervisory and monitoring role during work that needs to be done
  • Plan, organize, control and lead as supervisor by managing the maintenance staff
  • Do maintenance and repair work – all “minor” maintenance and repair work inside and outside all buildings when necessary
  • Purchase maintenance materials, tools and equipment as required and to control stock thereof
  • Assist in managing the Maintenance and Repairs budget
  • Inspecting buildings, maintaining inventory, and scheduling repair
  • Inspect sites regularly to identify problems and necessary maintenance
  • Coordinate daily maintenance activities
  • Supervise maintenance staff
  • Oversee all repairs and ensure that work is completed on time
  • Maintain all inventory and equipment and ensure proper storage
  • Comply with all health and safety regulations and practices on site
  • Conduct follow-ups on all maintenance and repair work
  • Conduct safety inspections as scheduled
  • Supervision of fleet usage
 
PRE-REQUISITES
 
Education
Minimum N6 Electro-Mechanical with 6 years post qualification experience/ National Diploma Electrical Engineering with 5 years post qualification experience or in a similar built environment qualification i.e., National Diploma Civil engineering.
 
Experience
  • Experience working on Electrical engineering, civil engineering, construction and infrastructure projects
  • In-depth knowledge of electrical systems and building trades
  • Advanced understanding of general maintenance procedures and techniques
  • Physically capable and available to work overtime including weekends, public holidays and evenings
  • Effective problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be well-organised and have the ability to prioritize tasks
  • Solid understanding of health and safety regulations and practices
  • Effective budgeting and performance agreement
  • Fantastic organizational and leadership skills
