Description
Purpose of the job:
To ensure applications (Pensions, CIS & Insurance) correspond with payments received and reconciliations thereof.
Key Performance Areas:
⦁ Reconcile (Pensions, CIS & Insurance) workflow system to the cashbook and to the accounts receivable system, as well as the work in progress general ledger account to the workflow system;
⦁ Reconcile the work in progress entries and cash received to the account holders on the accounts receivable system;
⦁ Process invoices, debit and credit notes and statements on Accpac and Magic;
⦁ Process approved refunds and ensure proper filing;
⦁ Mail “usage reports” and invoices to the clients;
⦁ Run month end reports for reconciliation purposes;
⦁ Open new account holders on accounts receivable system and Magic, and capture cash received;
⦁ Prepare general ledger journals, obtain approval, and process on Accpac;
⦁ Liaise with (Pensions, CIS & Insurance), IT, Actuarial departments and external stakeholder;
⦁ Attend to all queries received from Industry and follow up on outstanding payments where required;
⦁ Monitor accounts payments on bank statements daily;
⦁ Assist with all the duties of the Fee Income Controller;
⦁ Assist with system development and enhancements under the guidance of HOD: Finance;
⦁ Assist HOD: Finance with special requests as and when required.

Requirements
A Matric Certificate and studying toward or having completed a relevant diploma/ degree qualification. At least 5 years credit control, 3 years cash book and bookkeeping up to trial balance experience is essential.

ACCOUNTS PAYABLE ACCOUNTANT - FINANCIAL SECTOR CONDUCT AUTHORITY (Pretoria)

Description
Purpose of the Job:
- To attend to general finance duties as assigned i.e. accounts payable, assisting with preparation of the budget and to ensure that quality and deadlines are met.
- To follow up all requests regarding expenses from other departments.
- To reconcile and analyse all allocated non salary expense and balance sheet accounts in General Ledger and clear suspense items before the next month end.
- To prepare journals for all non-salary expense accounts.
Key Performance Areas:
- Review of captured invoices to ensure correct allocation of expenses.
- Preparation of correcting journals.
- Attend to variance report queries and do corrections before the period closes.
- Do monthly analysis of expense accounts and prepare journal corrections where there are misallocations.
- Perform reconciliations of all non-payroll expenses balance sheet accounts before month end closure.
- Provide detailed analysis of all reconciling items and attach supporting documents.
- Attend to suspense account entries that need to be cleared before month end closes.
- Provide a report of any wasteful/irregular expenditure to the Senior Finance Manage.
- Prepare year end closure accounts such as lease accounting, accruals and prepayments.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements.
- Attend to the recording of foreign payments.
- Assist other staff with their duties in their absence.
- Provide other departments with information as required regarding expenditure.
- Perform any adhoc requests from Senior personnel and prioritizes.
- Assist with queries of internal and external auditors when necessary.

Requirements

- At least five years’ experience in accounts payable, and general ledger reconciliation and analysis.

Description
Purpose of the position
To liaise with internal and external key stakeholders, coordinate activities between the Foundation and key stakeholders, regular communication relating to Foundation-funded projects with internal and external key stakeholders, and to gather information for data capturing purposes which will be utilised for the evaluation of the FSTC’s GN500 Standards for Consumer Education.
Key Performance Areas
⦁ Build and manage relationships with internal and external key stakeholders;
⦁ Liaise with internal and external stakeholders on Foundation-funded projects and donor funding requirements;
⦁ Communicate and liaise with donors about Foundation-funded project activation schedules and distribute invitations for project attendance;

⦁ Communicate with and obtain reports from Project Leaders (Quarterly and Monitoring and Evaluation Reports)
⦁ Attend some project workshops/seminars;
⦁ Liaise with relevant individuals to provide progress updates and/or information of specific requirements discussed in Foundation Sub-Committee and/or Board meetings;
⦁ Gather, capture and submit information for the evaluation process of the Financial Sector Transformation Council’s GN500 Standards for Consumer Education to the verification agency;
⦁ Assist with the Foundation’s general administrative responsibilities.
