SPECIALIST ANALYST - MARKET SURVEILLANCE AND DATA ANALYSIS DEPARTMENT (Pretoria)

Description
Purpose of the Job
To enable data-driven insights and apply the elements of cognitive science for planning and policy development, design and create the scripts/algorithms capable of reviewing alerts, use data as a tool to solve market surveillance business problems and make solutions through application of math, business, technology, design thinking, and behavioural sciences, and identify and document defects and provide updates as needed. The person appointed to this position will report to the Senior Specialist: Data Analysis.
Key Performance Areas:
⦁ Conducts "Market Conduct Market Surveillance” which begins with computerised analyses of activities that trigger “alerts” requiring additional review to determine whether the activity was a violation of rule, regulation
⦁ Reviews alerts in accordance with prescribed guidance, and, reporting and analysis of results;
⦁ Participates in development and design of the scripts used to review the alerts;
⦁ Identifies, researches, analyses and resolves complex problems;
⦁ Prepares, and conducts presentations on systems, reports, and findings to stakeholders, as and when required.

Requirements
A Degree in Statistics, Engineering, Business Analytics, Investment Analytics, Risk Management, or equivalent qualification. The specialist analyst should have intermediate knowledge of the system(s) of record required to conduct market surveillance activities and translates business strategy into work programs and processes. Minimum of 4 years work experience in a field where designing, researching, and implementing market surveillance solutions and using surveillance tools to deter market abuse was major, preferably in a financial services sector.

SECURITY ENGINEER : ASSURANCE ICT SECURITY OFFICE (Pretoria)

Description
Purpose of the Job:
The ICT Security Engineer: Assurance, will play a critical role in safeguarding the organisation's information and cyber security posture. This position is responsible for conducting security assurance activities, including maturity assessments, governance and policy reviews, and supply chain information security due diligence. The engineer will also oversee identity governance and access management, including data security and system access management, ensuring that the organisation adheres to industry best practices and regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will collaborate with various ICT stakeholders to improve security measures, mitigate risks, and encourage a culture of security awareness across the organisation.
Key Performance Areas:
⦁ Coordinate the annual information and cyber security assurance, control self-assessments and security penetration testing.
⦁ Ensure that the identity governance and access administration (IAM) solution performs in line with the service level commitments.
⦁ Ensure that the data loss prevention (DLP) solution performs in line with the service level commitments.
⦁ Manage and maintain identity threat protection and intrusion prevention solutions, and ensure that they function optimally.
⦁ Prepare monthly reports on ICT security events, incidents, breaches and policy or process violations in line with the response plans (CSIRP and CMP).
⦁ Prepare monthly operational reports on ICT security and risks, for presentation at management committees.
⦁ Coordinate the review of ICT security policies, standards and procedures in line with industry frameworks.
⦁ Ensure that ICT security risk register, and mitigation plans are updated quarterly or as required.
⦁ Coordinate the information requests for governance, assurance, audit and control assessments.

Requirements
A diploma/degree or equivalent in Computer Science or Information Technology, and relevant information security certification such as ISO/IEC 27001 Lead Implementer, ISC2 SSCP or ISACA CISM are preferred. A minimum of 3 years of experience in information security, with a focus on information or cyber security assurance, governance and security risk management are required. Knowledge of industry regulations and frameworks including but not limited to the ECT Act, POPI Act, ISO/IEC27001, NIST CSF, COBIT and understanding of ICT security policies, standards and procedures advantageous. Strong technical knowledge and experience with Linux based operating systems (i.e redhat, centos or debian based) is required.

Purpose of the Job:
To effectively regulate and supervise the Banks and Payment Providers, to protect the interest of consumers
and to ensure a sound regulatory environment. The person appointed in this position will report to the Manager:
Banks and Payment Providers Supervision.
Key Performance Areas:
• Monitor compliance with legislation to ensure sound and efficient Financial Services Industry and the protection of consumers.
• Liaise with the Banks and Payment Providers industry stakeholders.
• Identify and report trends through research in the Banking and Payment Providers sector with possible impact on the FSCA’s regulatory objectives.
• Conduct on-site inspections in terms of the risk-based supervision approach and report on the outcomes of such visits.
• Analyze compliance reports data (qualitative and/or quantitative) of Banks and Payment Providers.
• Perform administrative or other activities including proficient report writing relating to the supervision of Banks and Payment Providers.

The candidate must demonstrate the following skills and attributes: Problem analysis and solving, sound judgement, oral and written communication, information gathering, computer literate, good interpersonal skills,

Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in commerce, Law, Banking, Auditing, or other relevant discipline with at least 3-4 years working experience within the financial services industry. The candidate must have a good knowledge and exposure to the financial sector, a good understanding of the Financial Sector Regulation Act, Banks Act of 1990 and other related acts.
