PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To undertake research projects to investigate skills development issues related to Finance and Accounting Services (FAS) Sector. 
 
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Designing methodologies relevant to research studies being undertaken;
• Develop and/or modify FASSET Research Agenda/Plan;
• Develop the Sector Skills Plan (SSP);
• Assist and support the development of the strategic documents (SP and APP).
• Conduct literature reviews, collect, analyse and interpret qualitative and/or quantitative data using statistical packages;
• Write research reports and projects reports;
• Provide ready access to all data for management;
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to obtain additional research data, comments on the Sector Skills Plan and other research projects;
• Attend, participate in and report on all Skills Development and Research conferences and meetings that are relevant to FASSET;
• Conduct all allocated research as per FASSET research plan and Annual Performance Plan;
• Conduct clean-up and analysis (WSP or any data collected for research studies and presentations);
• Assist managers with FASSET representation in research and SSP forum attendance;
• Oversee the coordination of research planning meetings, prepare agendas and relevant supporting documents, and ensure the provision of Minute-taking services as required;
• Responsible for monitoring changes within the sector and market, analysing, competitors, customers, and business operations to provide strategic input. Assess current and future policy requirements to support strategic aims in conjunction with the organisation’s senior management; and research best practice to enable best design of the strategy;
• Data retrieval for audit requests and provide assistance during audits of the manager;
• Assist in the analysis of data and records to drive continual improvement;
• Control documentation to ensure easy access, traceability, and comprehensive record keeping of all documentation for manager’s office;
• Addresses basic and complex queries from stakeholders and channels specific;
• Ensure adherence to procedure and applicable service standards;
• Provide input into policies, templates, and SOP’s
• Recommend and incorporate cost saving initiatives into budgets and controls expenditure with approved parameters;
• Formulate contractual services agreements with services providers;
• Provide project management and administration of all research undertakings;
• Facilitate the establishment of partnership with national training institutions and universities that can support skills development within FAS Sector;
• Conduct workshops for SDFs on OFO codes, SDF registration, WPS/ATR submission, and requirements.
 
REQUIRED QUALIFICATION
Qualification 
• Honours’ Degree or Postgraduate Diploma in Statistics, Economics, Business Management, Social Sciences, and equivalent qualification at NQF level 8; A Master’s Degree at NQF 9 will be an added advantage and desirable.
 
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
Essential: 
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience within a research environment.
• Exposure to the Post-School Education and Training system and/or in skills development.

The salary to be offered for this position is R 688 103,67 TCTC Not Negotiable
