Minimum Requirements
  • BEng or BSc in Civil Engineering (Essential/Minimum)
  • PrEng with the Engineering Council of South Africa (Essential/Minimum)
  • 6-8 years of operational experience in civil design, maintenance, hazard identification, risk assessment, procurement, and project management (Essential/Minimum)
  • Management Development Programme (Recommended/Desirable)
  • Psychometric Assessment (Essential/Minimum) (To be conducted by Exxaro)
  • Certificate of Fitness (Essential/Minimum) (To be conducted by Exxaro)
  • Expertise in civil design and engineering standards compliance
  • Experience in managing project capital budgets
  • Proficiency in developing and managing professional networks
  • Demonstrated ability to manage contract and project execution safely
  • Adherence to quality management systems and SHEC policies
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills for working within high-performance teams

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Manage and oversee civil engineering projects, ensuring compliance with engineering standards and project specifications.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments and hazard identification to mitigate potential project risks.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring efficient resource allocation and cost control.
  • Lead contract management activities, maintaining strong vendor relationships and ensuring contractual obligations are met.
  • Foster a culture of excellence and collaboration within project teams, promoting innovation and efficiency.
  • Ensure the adherence to quality management systems and Safety, Health, Environment, and Community (SHEC) policies.
  • Build and maintain professional networks to support business growth and technical advancement.
  • Communicate technological advancements and industry best practices within the organization.
  • Provide expert technical support and direction to project teams, ensuring successful project delivery.
