BACKGROUND
The Export Credit Insurance Corporation of South Africa SOC Ltd (ECIC) is a National Public Entity (listed in Schedule 3B of the Public Management Act, 1 of 1999), reporting Department of Trade, Investment and commerce (the dtic) with a mandate to facilitate and encourage the export of South African goods and services. The ECIC achieves this by underwriting bank loans and offshore investments and provides export credit and foreign investment insurance cover. The ECIC is a registered insurer and is regulated by the Financial Sector Conduct Authority and Prudential Authority.
The Graduate Trainee Programme
Reports to: Head – Underwriting Unit
Division: Operations
Type of Appointment: 2-year fixed term contract
PURPOSE OF THIS ROLE
The overarching objective of the graduate program is to transition graduates from a higher learning institution to a work environment. We aim to help graduates become well- rounded young professionals with great prospects and a positive future.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES, MEASURES & INTERFACES
- Research and Analysis: Assist in gathering and analysing ESG data, industry trends, and best practices to support the development of ESG strategies and reports.
- Reporting: Contribute to the preparation of ESG reports, presentations, and other documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
- Project Support: Support ongoing ESG projects by coordinating activities, tracking progress, and preparing project updates.
- Data Management: Help maintain and organize ESG-related databases, ensuring data integrity and accessibility.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Assist in communicating ESG initiatives and progress to internal and external stakeholders.
- Event Coordination: Support the planning and execution of ESG-related events, workshops, and meetings.

WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU
- Applicant should be unemployed South African citizens under the age of thirty-five (35) and have not benefited from any internship previously and preferably from the formerly disadvantaged groups

- Diploma and degree in Environmental Science/Studies, Sustainability, or a related field. An Honours Degree and Master’s degree will be advantageous.
