​GRADUATE TRAINEE: ICT
 
Purpose of this Programme
An internship with ECIC’s ICT Unit gives graduates the opportunity to gain relevant experience in a corporate environment while assisting with desktop and local area network (LAN) support to ECIC users and ensuring continued system availability.
 
Responsibilities & exposure
  • Serve as the initial contact for users of all IT supported systems, applications and services in operation;
  • Administer, maintain, service and support approximately 90 end users;
  • Hardware setup and support (including monitoring and updating inventory of computer equipment), PC’s, printers, wireless network, switches and cabling;
  • Software installation and support for various operating systems (Windows 10, Windows Server), Office 365 productivity and collaboration tools, SharePoint and Active directory;
  • Administer and maintain company's e-mail and internet facilities;
  • Ensure adequate backups (daily, monthly, yearly) are kept for critical data;
  • Maintain the anti-virus control procedures and ensure that the virus definition updates are downloaded and installed on all desktops;
    Administering of new equipment or peripherals (quotes, orders, invoices);
  • Record and escalate any IT service interruptions;
  • Assist and be part of in ICT projects;
  • Provide weekly ICT reports (incidents and problem management);
  • Provide basic end user training
 
Qualifications
  • A minimum of Diploma in IT or MCSE (or equivalent), A+ and N+ certification. An ITIL foundation certificate is preferred, but not essential.
 
Knowledge Skills and abilities
  • Must have good technical understanding of supporting and maintaining workstations and network in a Microsoft Windows environment;
  • Understanding of network architecture (OSI models, protocols);
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Able to take initiative;
  • Able to work under pressure;








​GRADUATE TRAINEE – FINANCE

 
OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME
The overarching objective of the graduate program is to transition graduates from a higher learning institution to a work environment. We aim to help graduates become well- rounded young professionals with great prospects and a positive future.
 
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
Our Finance Unit is responsible for managing the finances of the corporation including; preparing monthly management accounts, annual financial statements, compiling quarterly reports and statutory returns.
As a graduate within the Finance Unit, you will:

Data Processing
• Processing debtors and creditors invoices
• Processing creditors payments
• Processing cashbooks
• Processing journals
 
Report Compilation
• Preparing monthly reconciliations
• Preparing weekly and quarterly cash projections
• Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly reports to stakeholders
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecast
• Assist in the preparation of annual financial statements
• Assist with updating finance processes
 
WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU
• You need to be an Accounting graduate with a BCom degree;
• No previous working experience
• Must be a South African Citizen
