SKILLS PROGRAMME: FIRE & RESCUE OPERATIONS
EThekwini Municipality is offering training opportunities to individuals with interest in pursuing a career in Fire and Rescue Operations.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates meeting the below requirements and who are eager to work effectively in the firefighting sector for a maximum period of twelve (12) months.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
i) Qualification: NSC, Grade12/Matric with pass in English plus Pure Maths or Physical Science.
ii) Other: Driver license, with minimum of code B (8) will be an added advantage.
A PPLICANTS MUST BE:
i) South African citizen with a valid identity document (ID).
ii) Reside in the eThekwini area of jurisdiction (proof of residence required).
iii) 18-35 years of age (at the date of closing of the advert).
iv) Not have any physical disabilities or medical infirmities /illness/condition.
v) Not in use of spectacles or contact lenses or suffers any vision defect or deficiency.
vi) No criminal record.
vii) Not pregnant.
viii) Must be physically fit due to nature of firefighting and rescue operations activities.
ix) Be able to reach the ladder on a standard fi re engine.
x) Applicants must be unemployed and not have participated in similar programme.

APPLICANTS WILL BE SUBJECTED TO:
i) Registration.
ii) Written assessment.
iii) Physical fitness assessment (Current Dr’s medical certificate will be a prerequisites).
iv) Security clearance.
v) Medical assessment.
All applicants must report to the Durban Exhibition Centre on 21-24 August 2023, opening at 08:00- and closing at 16:00pm for registration and bring the following:
i) Original Matric Certificate and certified copy.
ii) Original Identity Document and certified copy.
iii) Proof of residence.
iv) Own water and refreshments for the day.
v) Be prepared for all weather conditions.
