Introduction
The Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) is a statutory body charged with the mandate to regulate the engineering profession in accordance with the Engineering Profession Act 46 of 2000.
Position Summary: The ICT: Admin Temp has become available. The ICT Temp to assist the ICT Manager and ensure all to-do’s are done for the CRM project. The successful candidate will report to the Manager: Information and Communications Technology. The seniority and grading of the role will be determined during the recruitment process.
 
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Administrative Support: Managing schedules, organizing meetings, and preparing minutes for the IT team;
  • Documentation: Creating and maintaining records of IT systems, policies; procedures, and updates to ensure compliance and continuity;
  • Coordination: Assisting in the planning and execution of IT projects by coordinating resources and tracking progress;
  • Communication: Liaising with vendors, service providers, and other departments to facilitate IT-related needs;
  • Provide daily support on ICT processes, and procedures that deliver and support unified customer-focused IT services;
  • Records Management: Creating and maintaining comprehensive records of systems;
  • Perform other duties as tasked and deemed necessary for the overall delivery of the business unit´s activities.
 
Desired Experience & Qualification
  • Matric;
  • Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Management Information Systems;
  • 2 years working experience in an ITC administrative environment or related field;
  • Familiar with Agile Project Management methodology, concepts and software tools
  • Basic understanding of software development, business analysis or data analytics concepts
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work well in teams
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Organised and reliable.

Introduction
The Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) is a statutory body charged with the mandate to regulate the engineering profession in accordance with the Engineering Profession Act 46 of 2000.
Position Summary: The Senior Debt Collector vacancy has become available. This position will be responsible for overseeing a team of debt collectors, ensuring that they meet collection goals while adhering to relevant laws and regulations. The successful candidate will report to the Manager: Finance. The seniority and grading of the role will be determined during the recruitment process.
 
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Assist in the development and implementation of the collection strategy for the recovery of uncollectable fees;
  • Issue monthly reminders to unpaid accounts;
  • Identify discrepancies and work with team members to resolve issues promptly;
  • Maintain detailed records of reconciliations and communicate findings to relevant stakeholders;
  • Tracking and monitoring payment plan arrangements;
  • Preparation of the monthly reconciliation of the Accounts Receivable (AR) account;
  • Identify criteria for sending reminders based on account status and payment history;
  • Analyze account data to identify potential cancellations or accounts that are at risk of defaulting;
  • Use historical data and trends to forecast potential losses and adjust collection strategies accordingly;
  • Prepare reports on cancellation projections for management review to inform decision making;
  • Track and analyze team performance metrics, providing feedback and coaching to improve collection results;
  • Ensure all debt collection practices comply with policies and procedures, and relevant laws and regulations;
  • Provide input into the drafting of policies and procedures and business processes;
  • Handle escalated customer disputes;
  • Review weekly and monthly debt collection reports;
  • Prepare and present reports on collection performance;
  • Supervise daily activities of debt collectors, providing guidance and support to enhance performance;
  • Annual audit - As per the auditor’s request, pull out the relevant supporting documents.
 
Desired Experience & Qualification
  • Three (3) year relevant tertiary qualification bachelor’s degree in business management, Finance, Accounting or related field preferred;
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in debt collection, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role;
  • Advanced excel;
  • Understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
 
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Communication, team management and leadership;
  • In depth knowledge of debt collection laws and regulations, analytical skills to assess performance data and implement improvements;
  • Sage Evolution, Microsoft office suite;
  • Yearly: Provide input into divisional APP. Set annual collection targets, broken-down to monthly collection targets. Debt collection plan – segmentation of debtors book and priority accounts;
  • Quarterly: calculate potential cancellations, performance reporting;
  • Monthly: generate and send out reminder statements. Collection and management of outstanding debt. Review accounts in 60+ days. Payment plan arrangement management.
