QUALITY ASSURANCE AND LEARNING PROGRAMMES MANAGER

The EWSETA invites suitable candidates to apply for a Quality Assurance and Learning Programmes Manager.
Brief Overview of the Role
To effectively manage the Quality Assurance and Learning Programmes function to enable:
- The delivery of quality, updated, relevant and timely qualifications and Learning Programme that are responsive to stakeholder needs and industry trends.
- The provision of fit-for-purpose learning programmes that deliver 21st-century skills to ensure that the Energy and Water sector has adequate, appropriate, and high-quality skills that contribute towards economic growth, employment creation and social development.
- The implementation of quality assurance across education and training in the Energy and Water sectors to ensure optimisation and compliance in accordance with SAQA and QCTO requirements (e.g., identifying workplaces for practical work experience; supporting the development of learning materials; improving the facilitation of learning; assisting with the execution and conclusion of learning programme agreements).
- The execution of the delegated QCTO functions:
- Occupational-based Qualification Development
- Learning Material, QAS Addendum and Assessment Tool Development
- Workplace Approval
- Exit Moderations to ensure that the assessment of the learning outcomes described in the NQF standards and qualifications is fair, valid, reliable, and unbiased
- Certification Accreditation of Skills Development Providers
- Registration of ETD Practitioners (Assessors, Moderators, Facilitators and RPL Advisors) as a part of the quality assurance process to ensure the credibility of the assessment system.
- Assessment Centre Accreditation
- Trade related training M&E and dealing with training quality concerns.
- The issuing of Statements of Results for qualifications.
- To perform all tasks related to the purpose of this role, as required and delegated

ICT SUPPORT TECHNICIAN

Brief Overview of the Role
- To install, maintain and repair hardware and software components of the EWSETA’s applications and operating systems and to implement software and hardware changes.
- To provide first-line technology support relating to software and hardware technical issue involving core business applications and operating systems for end-users to maintain efficient business functions.
- To set up equipment such as laptops, data projectors, interactive whiteboards, sound systems and other specialist ICT equipment, ensuring that systems are ready for use and operating correctly.
- To maintain ICT Security standards and support disaster recovery solutions.
- To provide basic technical support at the network level: WAN and LAN connectivity, routers.

WATER SECTOR MANAGER

Brief Overview of the Role
To build strategic partnerships and value-adding stakeholder relationships in the Water Sector by:
- Facilitating collaboration between the stakeholders and internal EWSETA functions so that the various stakeholders are engaged with the EWSETA activities and that there is optimal collaboration between the EWSETA and the various stakeholders. This is done in pursuit of stakeholder satisfaction with the EWSETA’s delivery of relevant, tailored and best practice skills programmes / solutions.
- Collecting, interpreting and leveraging available sector data to identify current and future trends and to anticipate sector related skills needs. This information is shared with the EWSETA to enable the EWSETA to proactively position itself to deliver skills programmes / solutions.
- Being in the role of a business partner by influencing EWSETA decision-making by helping the Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation Division think through, understand, learn and act effectively on sector specific information.
- Advocating for the valuable contribution the EWSETA is making to understanding and responding to market forces within the sector (EWSETA as thought-leader).
- Demonstrating thought leadership in the Water Sector by sharing knowledge and insights at various industry fora, writing and publishing articles/thought pieces/blogs, etc. in relevant publications, social media and other means of influence.
- Creating value for the EWSETA stakeholders and partners in the Water Sector from a skills development perspective by utilising deep insights regarding the Water Sector to link to the EWSETA’s value creation opportunities.
- Building commitment rather than resistance from the stakeholders and drives sustainable and ethical results beyond blind adherence to EWSETA processes and policies.
- Contributing technical specialist expertise in service of organisational outcomes and value creation.
- Building a large and relevant network within the Water Sector, in the organisation and among stakeholders to support the delivery of richer solutions to the sector’s needs and using the network directly to help to achieve the EWSETA’s mandate and vision.
